So Steins;Gate 0 keeps going on sale for $14 but it never goes on sale on Switch and it's $30 there. I only really get through VN's portable since they're basically books. I thought about this and realized maybe I could stream the PC version onto an ipad to get around this. So I've been messing around with steam link. Surprised I never tried this before.

It's not great, the resolution doesn't match with my tablet and so it's not full screen and I find it annoying having the little cursor buttons on the outside edges, but otherwise it seems pretty doable for getting cheap PC VNs and playing them portable.

I used to use my laptop for portable VNs but it's old and in the closet now, so hopefully this works as well. Otherwise might have to dust it off to get my $14 worth out of Steins;Gate 0.

Resolution might be network speed.

You should be able to pinch and pull to zoom the game in if you need that.

Not enough games have cool destruction anymore. I remember that was a big thing devs would go for during the PS2/PS3/X60 era, bigger and more destructive environment.

Red Faction Armageddon felt like the pinnacle of that.

Then devs just kinda gave up on pursuing that direction. Wish more stuff had freeform destructible environments again.

Hey Toku:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'll probably give it a round and then delete it again because it's team-based and has (had?) no solo mode like PUBG did to where I could camp on the far side of the map and top-three consistently.

Read the Apex community has been severely disappointed in the new season's grind for XP and whatnot. Supposedly would require something like 3-4x the play time to gain the same amount as the prior season. Steam was bombarded with criticism from long time players. Then the devs announced they were reverting to a less aggressive system (half the time to gain the same, which some were still critical of).

EA pushing them in that direction I suppose?

Hey, shall we do some 'under the radar' cheap ass steam hidden gems?
Let's do some  'under the radar' cheap ass steam hidden gems!

Pixelart metroidvania? puzzle platformer? somewhere between the two?
One dude made this, and it took him forever, it looks beautiful, and is firmly in 'yeah, that's a fair price' territory now

These are sort of two sides of the same coin with an intertwined... I'm going to say narrative, even though its fairly opaque as to wtf is actually going on.
The Cube Escape games are locked room puzzles
The Rusty Lake games are... still sorta locked room puzzles, but much more story driven, covering various historical events alluded to in the Cube Escape games, and there are some satisfying payoffs and connections playing through them.
Also let's say heavy heavy twin peaks vibes, if that's your bag

It's Celeste, breh. If you didn't pick it up already for some reason, you should probably pick it up if you like platform games.
It's a pretty good platform game breh.

What? Is that a pricing error? No? It's actually priced to fall into that steam dregs bucket along side shit like anime stranding, wet pussy hentai and wanking simulator?
Okay then.
It's a pretty good point and click that has time travel as a mechanic.

Super charming and under-rated metroidvania where you play a dung beetle and most of your traversal is done via pinball flippers.

e:
Also, I obviously stand by all of my previous different recommendations too

https://www.theverge.com/2021/1/7/22218381/steam-beta-xbox-elite-controller-paddles-bind-ps5-player-led

Quote
A recent beta update for Steam has added new features for gamers using Xbox controllers. One of the more interesting additions is for Xbox Elite controller users, who can now use Valve’s software to bind the accessory’s rear paddles in controller configurations. The feature gives players more flexibility with how to use the extra inputs on the premium controller.

Other updates for Xbox controllers include the ability to bind the Series X gamepad’s share button in controller configurations, and the ability to use more than four Xbox controllers with Steam at a time. Support for trigger rumble has also been added for games using the Windows.Gaming.Input API.

THERE ARE ALSO NEW FEATURES IN STORE FOR PS5 CONTROLLER USERS
The Steam beta client also includes a new drop down menu for PS5 controller users, which lets them customize the controller’s LED. It can now be permanently enabled or disabled, or else enabled only when multiple controllers are connected. The update also adds support for the Wooting Two keyboard, which has features like analog key input.

For now, these new features are only available in Steam’s beta client, which you can opt into by going into the Settings menu, selecting Account, and using the drop-down menu in the Beta participation section. The Xbox controller features will also need to be enabled in the General Controller Setting section of Steam’s settings, and require a driver to be installed.
