I was fine with all the monologues until the last one, which felt really out of place.

Then I read that the writers came up with that monologue first and wrote the show to get there, and it all made sense.

the end ruined the show for a lot of people. i wish it ended differently, with him in the hospital bed and horribly cynical but whatever. it still was a good show and i'll accept his 'turn'
