does it acknowledge the events from the defenders and have any cross-overs?

No crossovers (apart from Misty) and it's set post defenders, doesnt really touch defenders in depth but the conflict of the show is a result of defenders and season 1 iron fist.

I disliked Iron Fist s1, except I'd prolly watch Colleen Wing in her own series. I'm angry that she's just a support character for a milquetoast Danny Rand. I liked Defenders slightly better, and was happy with the adaptation of the Elektra arc into the MCU. But your review counts as damning with faint praise for me.

Was bored and wanted some popcorn fun:

15min into Avengers infinity war turned it off

tried Solo and turned it off within 10min.

How you menchildren continue to watch this garbage i don't know. Avengers is especially lacking in mental fortitude. Do none of you notice that these actors are bored to death of playing superheros? At this point they are pretty much collecting a massive check while shootin the shit with each other.

If DCU keeps adding shows at this pace it may eventually be worth it for that alone (though Titans looks like a misfire.)

Just started Riverdale.

I wasn't expecting anything too special, but holy shit, one episode in and this show is amazing on every level.

I think the only person here who hyped it up was TVC, who mainly wanted Jughead to fuck him.

The first season is pretty great regardless of the sexiness of the cast. The second season is a mess (twice as many episodes and less time to make it) but it’s a pretty fun mess. It half-assedly burns through like two and a half mini arcs and individual characters are written really inconsistently, but it stays engaging even when things don’t quite make sense. Season 3 needs to pick it up, though.

It's great. Todd really cracked me up and overall the comedy was spot on. Love getting more of the characters but it might be running out of places to go with regards to BoJack himself.

He's a junkie again. Which I guess is true to life for addicts but may not be compelling as story advancement.

There's so much going on in the backgrounds, all the production team must be having a blast. I loved that Todd has Cordovia time alongside LA in his office (and that it obviously isn't coherent with any timezones :lol ).

bojack's character might be the best example of narcissism i've seen on a tv show so re: your spoiler, it'll be interesting where the next season picks up from.

although when he and gina do the interview after he strangles her and she begs him to play along and not come clean, i honestly thought he come clean anyway to keep gina tied to him, especially when she literally says that it would mean her career would be defined by him doing that to her. on the other hand, maybe he only did it to preserve his identity or overwhelming shame?

Re: always sunny lookin bad

Danny DeVito, dude is almost 74 and he deliberately doesn't do anything to make himself look better for the show

it's also worth noting that the makeup and lighting on the show is done to make them look subtly worse every few seasons

i actually wouldn't be surprised if you went back and watched the first episode of the season if they all don't look better, especially are dressed better/cleaner, when Mindy is in charge compared to the end when the Dennis bot has taken over...wouldn't be the first time the show has done that...same with the bar possibly too

I really didn’t like parts of season 1. Something about it bugged me, but I really liked season 2. It found its rhythm.

I finished s1 of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. By the end, Landis' riff on Douglas Adams' source material is pretty well done. Dourif is a treasure. I want to see her do more stuff. The woman playing Farah, the bodyguard/failed agency worker, doesn't hit the right notes for me. There's a HUGE issue with Landis shortcutting a bunch of procedural stuff, and also unrealistic emotional reactions, to the point where it was quite distracting. I'll watch s2, hope they get their stuff straightened out.

season 1 was the best, so I'd temper that expectation, tbh I loved the show all the way. Also she's in the purge and some other stuff, I had the same reaction to her, will watch whatever else she shows up in.

Also watched the first episode of Norm's thing.
He just let's David Spade ramble on for 30 minutes. But some of it was legit hilarious and classic Norm.

Spade thought the episode was just a try-out and wouldn't be aired, if you're wondering what level of quality to expect overall.

I loved it but plot wise they stalled a bit; they picked things up.
They 'meta' stalled it. Just like the show stalled so did the characters. I didn't notice it was intentional until after the intro of the last episode.
