i've been playing it on pc but this shit was clearly intended for mobile (as indicated by the fact that the single player icon is a dude playing on a tablet) so i'm posting it here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.daysofwonder.smallworld2https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/small-world-2/id364165557?mt=8it's a nice strategy game, each turn player pick a combination made up of a random race and a random power tied together and use it to gain territories, there is no actual combat and instead a territory always require 2 unit + 1 extra unit for opposing unit on the field and each territory you gain gives you 1 VP, each race and power comes with a number that indicates how many troops that combo gives and 2 special power depending on the race and power, some abilities gives you more VP if you do certain action (for example orcs gets extra VP when they murder something, which combines well with the pillaging power which also does the same thing, making pillaging orcs a desiderable combination) some abilities makes combat easier (triton for example have a combat bonus when fighting on shore) and some other abilities have more complicated effect (like the sorcerer ability to turn opposing unit into more sorcerer by hypnotizing opposing unit)
now here comes the interessing part, since there is no way to produce more unit, sooner or later you'll come to a point where all your unit are either killed or spread all over the map, at which point you declare that the race is now in decline and abandon them on the map as idle units, while idle they still produce VP but you can't take control them anymore making them easy prey for other opponent, after that you pick another race + power combination and continue with the new race
i really like this idea, not only it's thematicaly interessing as you basicaly watch your empire grows and fall in the span of a few turns, but it also force the player to think of some new plan every 3 turn or so, also each time you skip a combination, you have to pay VP depending on how many combination you skips adding another layer of decisions to the game
