Yeah, this game is bloody awful with a stock 360 pad, I was going insane when I first started out with it.  The SF4 fightpads are pretty good though, I've been switching between that and the stick and have gotten good results from both.

Haha, I love how arena mode is like 4 matches to beat the game.  I guess it definitely makes it easier to get through, instead of having to fight the standard 9 matches.

It's easy as hell in arena mode...I got perfects on Jin and Azazazazazazel.  But if you check NeoGAF, you'll find dudes complaining how they can't beat the game and see their precious endings.   :'(  So they're selling/returning the game.   :'( :'(

Definitely would not recommend using the stock 360 controller for this game.  Well, you could probably do okay with the analog stick, but that wouldn't fly in the SC mode.

Yeah, at least SC mode hands out achievements like candy. 8 achievements in an hour or so of playing.

Dude, I didn't even get into it.  Clearly these aren't people who regularly play fighting games and their number one priority is watching the endings, not learning to actually play.  I guess the RAGE is coming from being unable to button mash properly or something, I dunno.

Anyway it says I unlocked something called the Comic Effect or something like that, and I can't find it anywhere in the options. Anyone know what the hell that is? Can't find a pic, but comic effect puts the old comic-style sound effects in the hit effects, so when you hit someone hard, you get a big "BAM!  WHAM!" comic bubble.

comic effect is in its own category in the customization menu. 'extra' maybe? you prob have the english and japanese ones. that's what I have, anyway. : P

I think I'm going to be maining Lili. I switched over to her from Lars half way through the campaign and I had a lot more fun with her style. Hopefully she's a good choice! Still, I've only played like 4 out of the 40 characters so I wouldn't be surprised if I find some other guys I like...

Steve is pretty awesome too. I guess since I main Balrog in SF2/SF4 I shouldn't be too surprised. Boxers ftw.

Scenario Campaign really picks up in the later levels.  More enemies + getting used to the controls = more fun.

I finally tried playing this online today...wow    The input lag is soooo large and I suuuuck at Tekken so with the lag I dunno how to defend against all these eddie/law/mash characters.  I have like 10 losses and 0 wins

Try to stick player matches.  They seem to work better for some reason.  Most of the mashing lag-abusers seem to be clueless if you just sidestep and backdash often.  Try to find a simple move you can keep dodging and hitting them with.  For Eddy/Christie mashers, try to find a move that hits overhead.  Law tards tend to fall for low kicks.

Just got my copy today. It's pretty good -- character modeling leaves a bit to be desired, sub-HD mode is WTF?

But MAN the audio portion of the game is great -- music is fucking ace, hit impacts, even the GUI sounds are amazing--very very polished

   I was telling multiple people about that scene tonight.  Unbelievably bad...it's not even so much "fighting" as it is "flying around while nothing happens."  Felt like I was watching the desert army stuff in Transformers 2.

Just got a voice message from a tween after beating him soundly.  He didn't really do anything and just kind of sat there trying to punch while I combo'd him to death.  The kid sounded kind of like Bobby from King Of The Hill.  "You suck...you used the same fuckin moves over and over again."

I'm playing a guy, he disconnects on me.  Turns out his connection dropped.  Then I play a guy immediately after, he beats me, and MY connection drops out right at the end of the match.  Everyone was very civil about it though.  Then I play a guy with no real connection problems, beat his ass, and get "you're a stupid button masher."  Back to normal!

Is there any way to turn off lock on assist in Campaign mode? Nothing pisses me off more than to hit someone in front of me, then start a combo, only to find that the AI has locked me on to the enemy 10 feet behind me. Pisses me right off.

Just need to finish the Nightmare Train and Yoshimitsu's Island Temple and I'll be done. This is the first game in a very long time that I think I might 1000/1000 the Achievements on.

Last night, I played against a guy with 400+ wins and 700+ losses.  Beat him soundly.  How in the fuck has someone put that much time into the game on consoles already?   

Ranked seems better recently; getting much better connections.  Kicking ass with MOE MOE ROBO, but when I try using my current alt, resident Tekken-slut Anna, I get thrashed pretty badly.  Getting better though.  Idiots fall hard to d+4, 1.  It hits low and then hits high.  I got a couple of perfects just doing this.

My friend said it as "You fuck face, don't you know other shit?"  The best part is that I beat him using a character for the first time.

There's a button you can hold to get into free movement.  One of the bumpers or triggers, they tell you it in the tutorial.  It's the L button on a fightpad if that helps.
