We should be due for a new PS3 mecha announcement pretty soon. Gundam 0081 and ACE R were announced around this time in 2009 and 2010.

Gundam Versus Extreme?
SRW OG3?
Something else entirely?

I'd guess OG3 after Z2 has been out for a little.

New Gundam game.  Gundam Memories for PSP.  3p coop game.  Probably just typical Gundam missions with a touch of monster hunter.  Has 00 movie and SEED and UCs and stuff.  Zzz

Wait, ok.  Ummm, Bumpty Trot 2 has nothing to do with earthquakes.

Ummm, guys, are we sure everyone on the Irem team wasn't killed in the earthquake/tsunami?  This is really getting weird.

Banpresto and Bec Merge to Form B.B. Studio
Super Robot Wars series producer Takanobu Terada hints at new entry in series.
Posted Apr 06, 2011 at 11:00, By Anoop Gantayat

Banpresto and Bec are no more. According to Super Robot Wars series producer Takanobu Terada, writing at the Super Robot Wars series blog yesterday, the two firms were combined on April 1 into the new "B.B. Studio."

Bec, short for Bandai Entertainment Company, was previously a Bandai Namco Games subsidiary that developed countless games based off such franchises as Gundam, Digimon, Dragon Ball and Evangelion.

Banpresto once published games, but its publishing operations were moved to Bandai Namco Games in 2008. The name Banpresto continued in relation with games as a publishing label for titles like Super Robot Wars. Although Terada's company is now called B.B. Studio, Super Robot Wars will continue to carry the Banpresto label.

In the same blog post, Terada provided some hints about an upcoming Super Robot Wars game. A recent railer for the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release for Super Robot Wars OG The Inspector (see it at the Inspector official site), had some mysterious footage that seemed to hint at a new title. According to Terada, this new footage was from the opening demo video of an upcoming game. It was created by the CG team at B.B. Studio.

Terada said to expect further details on the title some time after the April 14 release of Super Robot Taisen Z 2nd Hakai-hen. Famitsu is actually promising a big Super Robot Wars series feature for this week's issue, but Terada's comments seem to suggest that we won't get a look at the new game this week.

Irem is based in Ishikawa, which was not affected at all by the earthquakes.  I'm sure than cancelling ZZT4 has put them in a really tough position financially though since that was supposed to be a major title for them.  Guess they have to try and make cuts where they can.

2 days to go!

Apparently game has leaked.  Will be interesting to see what hidden units are in or which series aren't getting finished until Z2-2.  When you get to the 2nd game in a series you start getting some interesting hiddens like Wing Gundam Katoki version in Alpha 2.  Though I'm going to avoid spoilers and stuff until I actually get the game and/or beat it.

Would be siiiick if they had one of the model or manga only versions of Exia.  Can't wait for Crossbone Exia in Z2-2.

I'm almost done with Z2-1.  Probably spent about 80 hours so far, should have it done in the next week; only about 15 or less maps left of the 80+.  Game has some good stuff and is enjoyable, but it feels like a total scam ripoff 1/2 a game for full price.  I went in expecting Z2-2 to have plenty of new series/stuff, but at this point I'm wondering if there will even be any new series in Z2-2 besides the 2nd half of all these shows.  And Z2-2 has to be out in the next 6 months for sure.  At latest it'll be 1 year later in April 2012, but I'm guessing it'll be x-mas 2011.

Also I'm kind of bitter because they totally did the readers digest no effort version of Gundam OO S1.  Transam is only a single attack and the GN Arms, aka Dendrobium, doesn't even get a freaking sprite; it's a map attack only.  Lots of story is cut out too :(   Compared to how in depth they covered SEED in Alpha 3, Astray in W, Destiny in Z, it's lame.  I can only think that S1 wasn't popular enough in Japan to put more attention in.

What gets extremely detailed attention is Code Geass S1, which was extremely popular over there, so I guess popularity wins.  Gurren Lagann is a decent adaptation.  All of the non-major plot stuff is cut and it's more of the "best of" GL but it hits all the major stuff and the sprites are good.

Word of Level-5's involvement in the new Gundam Age series leaked out of Coro Coro Comics last week. Now we have details on just how involved the developer is in the project.

As reported last week, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino is working on the story and series framework for Gundam Age, which will span the full gamut of media, including manga, anime, a toy/model line, and games.

The big question for Level-5 fans was, would Level-5 be working on the games? The answer is yes. Namco Bandai revealed today that Level-5 is developing a new RPG based off the series.

Separate from the RPG, Gundam Age mecha and characters will also feature in the next SD Gundam G Generation title. Namco Bandai's press release did not mention Level-5's involvement in this.

The platform and release time frame for both games is currently TBA.

Chromehound was one of the biggest achievement in online console gaming. Think about it -- it was released only a few months after the release of the 360 (during its first summer), and it had an amazing online support, excellent netcode, and a persitent world; while having tons and tons of different mecha designs possible. New titles with bigger budgets, 5 years later, cant even get basic shit working right.

We will NEVER get a game like this again. The fact that the game gets barely any mention nowadays is a crime.

How Level-5 got its hands on the Gundam license

Posted on 06.15.2011 at 17:49, by Anoop Gantayat

Level-5 is known first and foremost as a game developer. But now, all of a sudden, CEO Akihiro Hino is heading up story work on an original Gundam series, Gundam Age.

How did Hino get his Fukuokan hands on one of Japan's most prized franchises? In an interview with Famitsu this week (via Sokuho), Hino reveals that Level-5 was originally asked by Sunrise to just make a Gundam game. He was interested in more than this, though. He wanted to work on a Gundam project from the lowest levels.

Although nothing had been decided in terms of creating an anime, Hino created a lengthy plot summary. Upon seeing this, Bandai decided to go through with a full anime (scheduled to hit the airwaves in October).

As we reported yesterday, Level-5 is still making their Gundam game, said to be a large scale RPG based off Gundam Age. Famitsu does not provide further details on the game, whose platform is currently being kept under wraps.

I've got nothing to back up it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's PS3/PSV.

2011 marks the ten year anniversary of the Gundam VS series of Gundam games. Namco Bandai will be celebrating the franchise at two summer events.

First up is Character Hobby 2011 C3xHobby. This event will be held at the Makuhari Messe on August 27 and 28. Namco Bandai's booth will have all the Gundam VS. arcade games available for free play.

Next comes Tokyo Game Show in mid September. Namco Bandai will hold the Gundam Xtreme Versus 10th Anniversary Dogfight in Tokyo Game Show tournament, a tournament using the Xtreme Versus arcade cabinet.

The Gundam VS. series kicked off in 2011 with Gundam Federation VS Zeon. The series has seen a total of nine releases, including the latest, Gundam Xtreme Versus.

Home port announcement of Gundam Extreme Versus at TGS? There damn well better be one.

If the net play is good and the community is there, it'll be sick.

From Soft. isn't stupid, they're very smart developers and very aware of what a success Chromehounds online was.  This is going to be Chromehounds 2 if people put in the time and effort (which I probably won't have either :X  But I'll still give it a shot.  More likely to play if there's an EB team going on).

Quote from: Andria Sang
We have our first confirmation of a Namco Bandai Tokyo Game Show title today courtesy of Weekly Famitsu. The magazine reveals that the just announced PS3 version of Gundam Extreme VS. will go playable at the September event.

Namco Bandai will also have the arcade version at the show. This will be used for a tournament.

Famitsu has an interview with arcade version director Tetsuya Akatsuka and producer Yoshitaka Goto. In addition to the Tokyo Game Show info, they reveal that the PS3 version will include all the content that's added to the arcade version right through the home version's release. The home version is based off the latest build of the arcade version, which is due to hit arcades this Fall.

Regarding the game's network mode, Akatsuka said that they're aiming for lag free play. The game already feels extremely good even ahead of release. Players can create their very own rooms and gather with their friends to play. These rooms can be set up with local rules. Akatsuka said they have some ideas to keep this area of the game from being too much work for players. He promised details in a later update.

Goto promised lots of content for the home version, although he wouldn't divulge details. In addition to the background music edit mode mentioned in our earlier story, one other mode mentioned in the interview is a practice mode which lets you learn the controls. One of the ideas is that you'll be able to practice at home and take your new skills to the arcade.

The PS3 version will have a number of other new features that aren't revealed in Famitsu's article. Akatsuka promised the announcement of some surprising information soon.

Develoment on Gundam Extreme Vs is currently at 70%. The game is due for December 1 release, priced ¥8,380.

Hopefully we'll get better scans soon.
