I'll be clapping when it bombs. Gaming should never be arduous unless the person buying the game wants it to be. If I ever needed to play a game to feel accomplished, I'll probably just shoot myself.

Like the Xbox, it's the chicken or egg question again for MS. Did the small userbase cause the lack of games or is it the other way around? It's hard to tell since a MS console will probably never receive consistent and equivalent to Sony support from any Jap developer other than Capcom.

I hate it when Sony keeps making sequels for franchises that most people don't give a shit about but at the same time, MS is just as annoying with their tendencies to give up quickly on franchises that don't instantly bring in cash, like Banjo, Project Gotham, Viva Pinata, Rallisports, etc. They even gave up on one of the best RTS makers ever after just 1 mediocre Halo game which they weren't even suited to make.

I'm guessing that PS3 is the lead platform for Dark Souls? There was a time when From used 360 as the lead but that was a long time ago. Yeah, it's never been released "in Japanese" nor had an official Japanese launch. The only Japanese people playing it are navigating it in another language's UI, which you can imagine is a subset of the total potential audience. Blizzard has probably done an ROI and found it lacking -- but it's not like Japanese publisher haven't tried to bring it to Japan. They have. Blizzard just isn't interested.
