The Early Access version available currently is only very short though according to reviews. Will be keeping an eye out for a full release.

Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is having its full release on the 27th  :hyper

https://twitter.com/playismEN/status/1369672653284405248

Still at the early access price until then. Also in a dual game bundle with their previous game Touhou Luna Nights.

I super vaguely remember seeing this. Limited time download from 2017, apparently. Thankfully the original download page and file was crawled on archive.org.

No idea what the point was to make that game a limited PC release in Japan... could've easily sold it as standalone or make it an extra in Strange Journey Redux (which it promoted). What an incredibly weird decision. In fact, I think it was one of those deals where they pretended that SMT Metroidvania was April Fools at first, but then it was real. But only for like a month before they deleted it  :steel

Pc exclusivity and console exclusivity arent the same, the fact that you still dont seem to understand the legitimate gripes against making the pc space more like closed walled gardens like consoles, shows you really dont understand the issue at all.

Hmmk well anyway

it seems Doc was banned from Twitch because he tried to leverage a higher paying contract with Twitch by claiming he had an offer from Mixer.
When Mixer went out of business a week later, Twitch was pretty sure he just tried to fuck him over so thats why the permaban.

At least is what I read

I don’t like mergers. It’s usually never good. At least it isn’t Sony buying Bethesda, I could see them keeping the games console exclusive at that rate.

It’s strange that it will likely be 15 years between elder scrolls games, can you imagine telling that to someone in 2011?

As much time will have past from Daggerfall in 1996 to Skyrim in 2011, to Skyrim and ES6  :o

Outer Worlds 2nd and final expansion is out next week on the 17th.

First expansion was okaaaaay. Nothing special but addicting enough to blow 10 hours in a week going through it. Hoping this one is better.

Question, since I know this game has a few fans here... my fiancee wants me to play Beyond Good and Evil. I was gifted the GC version ages ago by a former coworker but never played it. IIRC there was an HD game out a few years ago (was it PS3/360? Or PS4/XB1?)... what's the best way to play the game and how long is it?

Any version is fine. It came out on ps3/360 and its not BC

GC is the most expensive for whatever reason. It will play fine

How Long To Beat says it's 12 hours. That seems about right.

I played the PS2 version and I don't remember having any issues with it. It's a solid game. I prefer it to any 3D Zelda.

As said, GC version is totally fine. IIRC there's only like one spot in the game where it drops frames on GCN/PS2, Xbox version doesn't. Game controls fine on whatever. I know some people prefer the GameCube version's controls because of the controller.

HD version was more like a PC port than a full on remaster. The PC version did so well that Ubisoft gave it away with packages of cheese!

Fuck whomever highlighted US$200 in store credit. That shit's disingenuous. 90 days paid severance AND benefits? That's a better severance than I've ever received in a layoff package, ever, anywhere.

Don’t get me wrong, from over a decade ago Activision became a worse type of corporate leviathan than EA. I feel they have exceeded many of the worst tendencies that EA used to display. Bobby Kotick is the kind of CEO who makes me squirm with anger with how belligerently he pursues the bottom line.

I have been through several layoffs. The largest severance package I received was two weeks’ pay, in addition to the mandatory cashing out of my remaining vacation time, and an offer to let me cash out my stock options before I left the building. I declined that, because I felt the company was not making forward thinking decisions.

My first job in the industry also ended in a layoff, where are the boss tried to dismiss us all without paying for our last months’ worth of work. We assumed the company was bankrupt and going out of business, so we all voiced our sympathy and concern for the boss. When he explained that he was going to continue business with about ½ the staff, we informed him that he was legally obligated to pay us for all of our hours to-date, and any vacation pay, and any amount of severance would go a ways towards restoring Goodwill. There was no severance.

Square Enix Presents was yawn inducing. I guess that Project Athia now has a name, and it's "Forspoken", and it has FFXV style 'warping' mechanics... can't really tell if it's an RPG or an open world action game or what yet, I guess it's trying to be machoor and edgy since the lead character is all like "is that a motherfuckin DRAGON?".

It's the inevitable cycle.

In a few years time some publishers will band together to organize a groundbreaking 'Live Play' event, where people can go to a location to watch video game announcements and play new video games.  :lol
I've seen the E3 floor space pricing though and that was just insane. I understand why publishers decided not to spend that money and why it always seemed like only the big publishers were willing to display their wares at E3.

That is also why in the final few editions companies like Nintendo and Sony had those multi-level booths, with gameplay spaces on the ground level and meeting spaces stacked on top of their booths.
It was cheaper to design and build a multi-level booth than it was to rent more (office) space at E3. Some companies also moved the business side of things to other buildings and hotels in the area.
The big problem with E3 was always the costs while the ESA and other organizers made a lot of money. I think that's also why Geoff cut ties with them. E3 was just a cash cow.

I would say E3 peaked between 2004(Twilight Princess) and 2014(MGSV) after that it just became less interesting as the years went by.
Games would be announced at the VGA's or other places first. Publishers would divide their attention between GamesCom, eSports and E3.
The 'service' and 'systems' games became big so people played the same game for long periods of time with season updates, which were just less interesting as announcements than entirely new games.

C'mon, Sony's 2015 was definitely a high point, if you care about that kind of hype/presentation.

Last Guardian, Shenmue 3 and FF7 Remake all in one presentation.

Nah E3 2015 wasn't great at all.

Microsoft big game was Rise of the Tomb Raider, a timed exclusive sequel.
Nintendo had the poorest showing in years with Star Fox Zero.
FF7, TLG and Shenmue 3 were 3 interesting things in a sea of very little but two of them had a *.
Shenmue 3 was a crowdfunding thing and ended as most kickstarters did, too little too late.
It was already clear then that FF7 was just another tech demo/CG thing and wouldn't come out for years.

Things that were announced that were interesting like Project Morpheus (PlayStation VR) weren't shown.
From 2004 up to 2014 you had a great E3 every 2 years or so with interesting announcements and a strong showing from the industry.
All of that ended in 2015.

If you apply the logic of what actually turns out to be great on release, you have very little left, tho.
