How much notice do you guys give for PTO? I have a bad habit of just texting my manager the day before saying I want the next day off. It’s an office job so it doesn’t necessarily make a difference if 1 person is missing, but I feel like a shithead because I keep calling off on short notice.

Yeah it’s just a day but this will be the 4th time since July that I’ve called off the day before. Is that unprofessional?

It doesnt matter whether I’m missing or not. I just find it to be bad practice and I’m kicking myself for getting into this situation

I'm trying to buy something on ebay from a UK seller and they're totally trying to screw me over on postage costs. They claim postage would be £30 when I've purchased similarly sized items before and know the postage is way less.

We were messaging back and forth and the seller insisted that a calculator on the post's website says £30, I went to the Royal Mail website and checked the prices for signed and tracked international shipping to Europe and what do you know, I was right, it would cost way less. I linked the seller the site and said the calculator they used must have been faulty and now they don't respond anymore lol what an idiot. Why try and bullshit someone on postage costs when it's so easy to check online and prove them wrong

I guess now I won't get my stuff though

She replies to this again saying she needs access for another six months.

I respond that yes, I just spoke with her and we have done this.

She replies yet again with the same thing.

I once got a customer patched through because she wanted help setting up a modem that wasn't supported by the ISP, because she bought one without wifi because she thought wifi caused her husband's cancer. As she was describing her experience going into an electronics store and waving the gauss meter she bought over different modems to try to find one with no reading, I thought "no-one I work with is going to actually believe this phone call happened". About 50 minutes. It sounds a lot but getting a twenty minute walk and reading for half an hour is a nice break from work and family-life responsibilities.

It's a 15 - 20 minute drive plus a 5 - 10 minute walk.
So depending on traffic it's either 20 or 30 minutes.

Fastest I've managed is 14 minutes

But the traffic just keeps slowing down. My car measures the average speed and the slowest this year was 19 km/h which is roughly 6 mph.

2 hours - one hour each way if there is no traffic. But I live and work on complete opposites of one of the widest shitholes in the country, Houston. So there's always fucking traffic.
