Had a job interview Monday.  It was kinda weird.

I get a call from a PC repair/IT support place.  They are an authorized Mac dealer and specialize in fixing various model Macs and iPods.  The guy on the phone sounds very enthusiastic and even asks me when I can start working(!).  He tells me that my resume is one of the few he's received that's actually presentable.  Says he is booked up with interviews on Thursday and wants to know if I would be able to come out there...NOW.  I'm in jeans but he says it's cool and to just come for the interview.

So I go there and the place seems pretty cool.  There's a few dudes working on Macs in the front of the store.  The bosses are in the back.  It's pretty relaxed.  But the guy I spoke to is basically the opposite of how he was on the phone-- no enthusiasm, quiet, seems tired (he yawned a few times).  I sit down and they ask me a few questions; I ask them a few things, but it's mostly just us sort of sitting there quietly.  I can't figure out if they just felt I wasn't right for the job right from the get-go (although it's entry-level) or if they just didn't know how to do an interview.  They asked me nothing about myself/previous work experience.  They did start talking about job benefits and asked me when I would be able to start (again), but I left the place baffled.  Couldn't tell what the vibe was. 

The guy said he'd let me know either way in a few days...it's been a few days now, and I haven't heard anything.  Never been to an interview like that before.  I've been to ones where it was painfully obvious the job wasn't for me/I wasn't qualified/the interviewer didn't like me/it was just plain bullshit, but never anything like this.

If you're really interested in the job, you should make a follow-up call and ask how things are proceeding. But if you got a bad vibe from them, like there is some weird schizophrenia with the tone they took on the phone and the attitude they had in person.

That pretty much hits it on the head.  But yeah, I think I may contact them again if I don't hear anything Monday.

The last job interview I had also ended with them never contacting me.  I passed the first phone interview and then they called me up the same day to schedule another one with their IT manager.  The day came, and...nothing.  This person I did keep in contact with, making a few calls and exchanging e-mails.  She told me the IT manager was very busy and couldn't find the time to talk to me.  Set up another day and time and...nothing.  But this time she sent me a mail saying the guy was still too busy.  After that I sent one more follow-up mail and got no reply.

It seems to be typical for people to just stop communicating with you, and it's incredibly rude.  I realize that there are tons of job applicants and I mean nothing to these companies, but I never had this happen when I was job-hunting in Japan (and that was with companies staffed by other foreigners).  Send me a rejection letter.  Tell me to fuck off.  Just tell me SOMETHING instead of breaking off all contact, especially after you tell me someone is going to speak with me.

It was written by one roommate and he kept referring to himself in the third person throughout, which made me think the landlord had written it until I got to the end where the roommate signed it.

I had a weird dream that would make a good ghost story movie.

I run across a friend who I haven't seen since high school and we go back to his place and chill.  Then a cute girl bursts in with firecrackers and starts throwing them at us for revenge and I'm like wtfffff, so I take her outside and she tells me that back in high school I pushed her against a wall and there was a hummingbird on the wall and it stabbed into her arm and was the most painful thing ever so in revenge she tracked me down to throw fireworks at me.  So then we start talking about old times and we hit it if and go watch a movie at her parents place, make out and then I leave. 

Later at night I realize I didn't get her number but I remember where she lived so I decide to stop by to ask her.  I find the house and when I enter it the room where her parents were is a wall.  I call out but nobody answers.  The place seems deserted.  I walk out the front door and instead of leading outside it takes me to another hallway and I realize I'm trapped inside of a haunted house with the ghost of the girl haunting me and out to kill me because the twist is that when she got stabbed by the hummingbird after being pushed she died from her wounds and we had all forgotten it over time.

I hate creepy dreams!!

I just bid $280k on a townhouse... I'm a bit nervous about the whole 'moving out' thing, but it's definitely time.
