Update: This morning, Saturday here, is my first day without a fever since Tuesday. I immediately started having jaw pain again from where my nerve was extracted. JOY! I didn't want to risk infecting the dentist's office with flu, but I also didn't want an abscess, so I went in anyway. Turns out there was a lot of bleeding in my root canal, so they drained it, re-packed with antibiotics, and sent me on my way.
I don't want to whine; I have friends out there who currently have it worse than I do by leaps and bounds. I mean, I have access to the medical attention which prevents all of this from being long-term damaging, and none of this is life threatening because of it. But in the last three weeks, I've had:
- a common cold
- shingles, which has given me a small spot of ongoing neuralgia which may not go away
- a new crown tooth go awry, which led to a
- root canal, which led to
- bleeding, requiring more root work
- overwhelming pollen allergies, requiring a visit to the otorhinolaryngologist, which directly resulted in
- influenza, for which I received an antiviral, despite which I had
- a 38 - 39.2º fever for over two days straight, never dropping
