Got up today thinking I would be cleaning the house in preparation for my brother-in-law's family who were visiting.

8 hours later I was at the vet as they put my sister's dog to sleep.

Today isn't the best of days. Doesn't help that his condition deteriorated so rapidly that they thought he was poisoned.

While I dislike countries that are pernicious tax havens, at least the banks in those countries are able to readily produce documentation that's in English when an American taxpayer is taking advantage of a foreign reporting amnesty.

Unfortunately for me I'm trying to cipher Italian banking terminology because the bank this particular taxpayer used to hide money is in just a regular ol' country instead of a tax haven.

On a lighter note, I think the abbreviation for "assegno/i" is "ass".

I felt like crap too after drinking myself into a hole. I woke up today and was a zombie. So much has been going on for me lately I am just frustrated as all hell. This year has just been another example of why I need to get my shit together and go back to school. I took the week off to get my head in the right place. I've gotta get ready for internal review and then peer review next week. Turns out the project I was on was already planned to be shut down by higher ups, they just didn't know how to handle the situation in a timely manner. So they wasted company resources till someone got wise and forced their hand. So hopefully everything goes well and I'm valuable enough to keep around. If not I guess I'll be drinking some more sometime next week.

So I'm going to Charleston SC in a week and they're having flash flooding right now all the way until when I arrive going by the forecasts. There's going to be so much water there by the time I get there that even if it passes and the sun comes out, the 90+degree weather + all the water is going to make for miserable humidity :\ I don't even know how I'm supposed to get from the airport to my hotel if the streets are closed from flooding. fucckkkkkkk

NC is cool. I went in the early spring so the weather wasn't ridiculously hot. Didn't like South Carolina, but mainly because I was in some bumblefuck town for a basketball tournament and was getting mean mugged by old people who seemed kinda...unhappy about my presence.

We still won though.

Don't worry just go to the doctor and straighten things out. I recently scared the shit out of myself for no reason over a health issue. Went to the doctor and while the news wasn't great, it wasn't life or lifestyle threatening.

Looked at a place today that was pretty sweet.

It's common for 4 young adults to just split the rent on a house since like half of suburbia is owned by absentee landlords now, which is what this place was. Private jacuzzi for peanuts a month.

I think the room's a little smaller than what I have now, but I get a bigger closet and a full house to roam.

Everyone who lives there seemed hella chill and they were stoners who go out all the time too.

Only con (besides taking on a mild commute) is that the room was previously occupied by a gal and the drapes, wall color, and ceiling light are outside the boundaries of general acceptability for a breh, but luckily I'm going to die alone so I don't have to worry about anyone thinking I'm not masculine enough if I take them home.

Think I'll put in a formal offer this weekend.

Ancient Aliens wasn't their first alien show (there was also UFO Hunter or some shit), but I think that was the tipping point. That was right around the same time that Ice Road Truckers, Pawn Stars, Swamp People started coming out too, in that 2008-2010 time period. They pushed all their Hitler stuff over to the Military Channel, and now the History Channel is almost totally entertainment with an occasional slant towards history (Pawn Stars, American Pickers).
