I don't really remember much, but it has been 15 years since I have been there. The only thing I can recommend are knedliky, they go well with everything.

And they sell open faced sandwiches in every coffee shop. these are really good and a cheap lunch.

Booked a little condo in the mountains for two nights for Memorial Day weekend a few weeks ago, via VRBO. Have used them before and this has never happened- Just got an email from the owner with directions and info. That's normal. But it was prefaced with "confirm your understanding and acceptance by sending a picture of your driver's license.....Also, a picture of the credit card used when making your reservation and payment. You may block out all numbers except the last 4." This didn't even come from the VRBO messaging system and is from someone's personal email address.

So...what?

Totally not going to do that. Why would they think anyone would be comfortable with this?

Maybe we're not going to be going anywhere this weekend.

Of all the "sharing economy" scab services out there the hospitality ones are the easiest to sour on. The only places I've rented through them where I didn't have to constantly interact with nosy lunatics were the ones run by faceless management companies in the Potemkin villages that are the downtown condo blocks found in San Diego, Montreal, et cetera.

First time this kind of thing has come up for me. Maybe I was just lucky?

Or maybe it's VRBO- the last reservation I made with them went through fine, but the owner gave me some pushback when I attempted to cancel due to a hurricane warning (it turned out fine, but did actually hit that area and there was damage all over the place) and didn't give us the correct the information needed to enter their condo, so after driving down to it and arriving at 2 AM...we couldn't get inside. When I called the owner about it, she got all pissed off at me. Tough shit? Send the right details and you won't get woken up in the middle of the night.
