I took a quarter of a tab of LSD an hour ago and feel so euphoric and happy. Everything is normal but I feel so connected to things. It's like I'm on ADHD meds but it doesn't turn me into a robot. As I have ADHD this is amazing. It's like I can get things done in this state and my mind is normal and calibrated. This is nuts. I just want to hug everything, man. Even a glass of water is renewed in its purpose, and given new life. I need to go for a walk. The weather is amazing, the sun is amazing, this life is amazing, God is amazing. It's so much it makes you want to cry, man. As the Beatles wisely said,"because the wind is high it blows my mind, because the sky is blue it makes me cry."

This is fucking amazing. My brain...is working?!?!?? This is the best ADHD medicine I've taken. This is SO. GOOD! I've been on fire since doing this. It's helping with my tinnitus. It's helping with my audio processing. I cannot believe it. If I had this years ago I wouldn't have been suicidal. This is incredible. I am in Arabic class now and it's amazing. Even prayer is amazing like this.

As someone with ADHD I instantly felt like my  brains holes had been plugged and I had a sense of euphoria. I initially  made a list of things to analyze about my negative thought processing ("why am I such a negative person? Why do I always think of the worst case scenario? How can I heal from these thoughts?") and sit down with myself but in the end realized how silly it was. After dropping my quarter and experiencing the come up I said to myself,"This doesn't even matter.  Enjoy life" and I went on a walk. While walking I managed to have so much love for  everything - this world, God, my neighbors, the plants, even metallic  surfaces and stones, which felt neat to touch. But most of all, love for myself, who I've been so hard on. It made me realize all we need is love and so much we face is in our minds. For so long I've felt like a broken person - the first time I experienced suicidal ideation was when I was 9 years old and I've long convinced myself that I was unlovable or not worth loving. I got lsd to, and combined with therapy, help fix my broken pieces but taking it I've realized I'm not broken or  cracked in any way. It's like God has hugged me and loved me despite my  struggles and I'm crying as I type this. More than that, it felt like my  brain was actually functioning in full capacity. As someone with ADHD  it was a revelation. It's easily the best ADHD medicine I've ever had  and didn't turn me into a robot the way Adderall always did. My tinnitus  and audio processing were completely demolished and music sounded so  good. I'm Muslim and even prayer was so beautiful and euphoric.

It has been almost two days since taking it and my ADHD has been curbed still. Yesterday I didn't put anything off, didn't procrastinate. It was beautiful. With my depression and ADHD I put things off a lot or tell myself some things aren't even worth doing. I ended up scheduling an exam for a job I wanted to apply for, studying Arabic for Quran, prayed most of my prayers on time, did chores as they came rather than put them off. I haven't tripped in earnest yet but I'm really grateful for this experience as I think it taught me that psilocybin or lsd won't teach me secret answers or anything and that everything will come from myself that was already there and always had the potential to have.

Since taking it I'm not going to say I experienced ego death or anything but I realized how much of an ass I can be to people (and myself) and that most people are just hurting and we should treat them (as well as ourselves) as kindly as possible. All we need is love!

Further musings: haven't felt the need to post about politics or anything here since taking it. The only reason I've been being like this is because I can say things I can't say on Facebook or elsewhere on the internet. It was a way to express myself without a need of censor but in the end it was still based around my ego and the thrill of being hated. I was being an asshole on purpose because I have no outlet elsewhere to be and because it felt good to hate post. What a waste of time and energy. Over the past few years I've kind of lost empathy for others when I used to be a more empathetic person. So this feels nice to spare others me being a shit head on purpose.

I'll be taking half a tab next week or the week after that. I'll still have a quarter of a tab left and I'll be saving that for a vacation to the beach or day in nature. Given my "trip" and its effects I would wager I took around 20-25ug. Enough to feel a euphoria but not enough to see visuals. Enough to talk to people but still feel something. Next go around will be twice this. After that, I'll take a full 100 or so ug tab and I'll have my first proper trip.

I had to do a sappy Buyer's letter to Seller for the first time. I got lucky and never had to do that in the past. I thought they were phasing these things out in the last few years because they're super biased.

I've always hated the idea of them as a single person because some letter from a family with kids and a dog is always going to be more heartfelt than a single person. But it's hard to date/get married/start a family as a single person if you don't have your own place. So chicken & egg situation there /shrug.

Oh and the sellers had all kinds of Christian writings and stuff on the walls, so I'm sure a nice religious family sells better, but I couldn't bring myself to throw any religious praise Jesus in because it's very much not my element.

The house I'm looking at is already up like 40% from 2016 and almost double the price from where it was at the bottom of the market in 2010.

I have a friend with very specific requirements for the house he wanted (land for activities, no pool or pond, good garage/workshop area)

he found the perfect house and was all set to buy it, then someone bought it out from underneath him through a direct deal with the homeowner, and this was allowed because the realtor forgot to cross t's and dot i's and it was a nasty shock, he was all ready to move and got fucked over big time

he found another perfect house and made sure it was his this time, but even then the homeowner realized he could've gotten a better price and started dragging his feet and becoming pouty about the whole situation, almost had to go to court with him over it, there was some document he refused to sign regarding out-buildings and lawyers/local depts were like "uhh, no one has ever refused to do this before, we don't know the ramifications if he doesn't"

but he got it eventually and it's a nice place

When we got our home in 2021, we didn't bother with any bidding war nonsense and just kept looking when that came up on a house we were interested in.  It's not worth it- there's always something better out there.  IIRC we just put in a solid offer on our house and got it over someone else, but we weren't going to go any higher and the home owners needed to sell and move ASAP, so it worked in our favor. 

I like being a house owner, but sometimes I think I'd rather be back in a condo or a townhouse.  I like not having to worry about taking care of the outside.  We had to spend a shitload of money to basically completely gut and redo the entire backyard and now the front is going to need work, too.  Then again, there's a very minimal HOA here and it's nice to have our own yard space.

found a whole webring of this ancient year 2000 internet, every single site is dead, earthlink, geocities, some random guy's personally hosted .net...it's all long gone, but archive.org keeps it alive

there's this community love for this game and a buzzing excitement about this thing 20 years ago

there are 3 or 4 main sites run by specific named people who you can tell were like the pillars of their community, hosting side content, extra rules, even a mailing list where you can see the topics people were talking about even if the text is all dead

fan sites for the game that are intermixed with "my family photos" and "my bob dylan fan page" and it's all just raw html with tiled backgrounds and stuff

photos of tournaments and events from 2001 where everyone looked so happy in their scrappy mediocrity promoting this game


I look up one of the main guys and he might still be around, he's 80 now and his linkedin photo looks like the same guy from those tournaments

I coincidentally saw one of these recently in the recent uploads on a torrent site and clicked on it to see what it meant. Some 240p and like 35MB file made into like 1080p and 2GB. I didn't download it (not degenerate and potentially illegal enough for my tastes) but from the large screenshots you really couldn't tell it came from such a shitty source, you probably could have said it was a release the studio made from the original source file. (I have no idea if porn companies keep the masters of porn that long, I would assume the larger ones do but random internet sites? People who just recorded stuff cheaply?)

Also another of those instances where random dudes wanting to jerk off are doing better work at preserving and forward-compatibilitying old work than the "legit" mainstream companies selling TV shows that will shove anything out no matter how much they've fucked the ratios and crapped all over the image.

When I bought my house, we put in an offer that we thought was reasonable. Turns out it was $50k+ below what someone else had offered. However, the other offer fell through because they couldn't get their finance. So, the agent came back to us and we just told him to re-present our original offer and they accepted.

Also, contract was signed on Christmas Eve. Don't do that. Ever. Trying to find solicitors and building inspectors who are working over Christmas is really painful.

Bought a thing off EBay. The tracking said it had been picked up by the courier. Cool. Then the seller contacted me to say the tracking was wrong and it hadn't been picked up. Weird, but OK. Seemed like an easy fix. Then I got this from the seller -

"Can't speak to anyone at Evri in person to explain the issue. EBay are no help. It’s been suggested I take it to an Evri parcel shop, but if they still have the incorrect tracking details more than likely it will end up missing in transit."

They accepted an offer from me for £50 below asking price so not sure if this is a way of keeping thing and refunding without getting a strike. Maybe they're legit. I know nothing about couriers. I replied yesterday asking if there weren't any other couriers they could use. No reply to that.

The story had a hyperbolic — even comedic — edge. Didn’t these players realize they were signing up to a reality show based on one of the most sinister, bloody survival dramas ever made? Weren’t they aware of the long hours involved in any kind of TV production?

Netflix was quick to kibosh tabloid reports of a contestant being stretchered out, publicly playing down the incident. In a Jan. 25 statement, the streamer said it cared “deeply” about the health and safety of the cast and crew. Yes, it was very cold on set, Netflix admitted, but “participants were prepared for that.”
