Also, talk about about failing your way up, exhibit, the Pelicans Dell Demps:

One passed physical and Demps would of handed over the first rounder that got Cousins for fucking Jahlil Okafor(maybe Moore too but that isn't clear if he is affirming that entire guess or just Jah).

I knew there were rumors, but my god, Okafor being unable to pass a physical basically saved the Pelicans from getting onto the path of CP3 2.0.

Just a refresher, but basically Demps still has a job because he incorrectly took Buddy Hield over Jamal Murray. Tried but failed to trade away his next years first rounder for an awful fitting Jahlil Okafor, and only because of both those failures did he fall into success by then lucking into having the worst organization in the league over-value his draft pick even more, the only organization to possibly fail even harder to build around their superstar big man.  When you peel away how they got here, the Pelicans suddenly finding success is really such unbelievable luck despite all attempts to ruin it.

This is the greatest thing to happen since the DeAndre Jordan hostage situation.

1.) Basketball Reasons
2.) Deandre Jordan hostage situation
3.) Colangelo burner accounts

The NBA fuckery :rejoice >>>> NFL fuckery

....Though at the rate this is going, it might move up the ladder before the week is out. Looks like there is a treasure trove in those accounts(Even some Muslim ban staning) and the ongoing fallout has epic potential.

can you imagine the embarrassment for the Sixers if the league hadn't strongly suggested they hire him

The whole reason for hiring him was that Hinkie wasn't enough of a people person, and was potentially damaging their relationships!

Yeah the Hinkie pariahing and ultimately firing was a low point of the NBA for me.

If the system is broken, fix the system, don’t cry about the guy who is doing the rational thing and exploiting it make their team better.

Because guess what, it worked, and if you are a non destination market looking to rebuild, it is the best way to go about it. I’m actually a bit worried about the fixes that have been floated because making it harder to build through the draft could just mean many franchises never have the ability to climb out of the gutter.

I can’t talk, having lived in Manitoba.

What are you doing in Ohio?

To be slightly on topic, though extremely late to the party, I can’t believe that I watched the Mavs of the early 2000s, with Nash, Finley, Nowitzki, etc., and never though “hey, this team should shoot more thees!” It’s not an oversight like investing billions in  collateralized debt obligations from a pool of subprime mortgages, but it still makes me feel very stupid.

Feeling better and healthier nearly two months after taking a medical leave of absence, Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said he has been getting treatment for anxiety.

Lue had been having chest pains and occasionally coughing up blood when he left the team in March. He was unable to coach the second half in several games before stepping away to deal with the issue. A diet change and medication have helped him.

"I'm glad it wasn't anything serious," Lue told ESPN's Rachel Nichols in an exclusive interview.

I don't know bros, I could be completely wrong, but the Cavs don't look all deer in the headlights against GS like Rockets did. They may have been game planning for this moment all season.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Thursday he has been in touch with the Philadelphia 76ers regarding the team's investigation of team executive Bryan Colangelo's social media activity.

"The notion here was let's find out what's going on," Silver said. "You have to separate sort of the chatter and sort of what either fans or, frankly, the media are saying from the facts. And the first thing we have to do here is determine what the actual facts are in this circumstance."

...

Silver said he didn't have any further information on the matter but wasn't pleased it was taking some attention away from the start of the NBA Finals.

"From the league standpoint, here we are, Game 1 of the Finals, it's not necessarily something we want to be talking about," Silver said. "But it's the reality of this league."

God I am so tired of the Warriors nonsense.

Makes me actually want Lebron to go to Houston....Despite it literally meaning the ugliest, most annoying fuckball and fuckery the league has ever seen. But that is how much I am tired of seeing Draymond and these cocky shits.

nuts when they get games like that out of Love, LeBron and Larry but it winds up not being enough and they still needed someone else (or at least Love to hit some of those threes)

still think they gotta try Rodney Hood at some point in case his shot comes back, this game without Igoudala was probably an ideal game to give him some of those Jeff Green, Clarkson and JR minutes to see what's up
