Are the Lakers projected to get anyone good this year? That's all I want to know.

Picking so late, they will probably have to draft a project. That being said, Kuzma was a 27th pick.

the most deflating part is the two best teams in the east picked the two players both fans and pundits wanted: williams (boston) and smith (76ers)

this is so reminiscent of the 2009 draft when we passed on curry, who was even excited at the prospect of playing in washington. guess who was our gm then?

Clips have been a fun team I've kept an eye on since the Blake deal. They've got a similar forward situation too considering how little the team has been together. Need more Mo Harrell, and should get Willie Reed back, he was fun. Yet they can't really play their "best" forwards together even if healthy against a lot of teams.

The Clips guard situation is slightly misleading from a numbers standpoint because of their weird situations, Bradley has expired and I don't imagine they resign him, Beverley is coming off a season where he only played 11 games. Both Gilgeous-Alexander and Robinson are 6-5/6-6ish so they can play next to Lou Williams or Beverley or even Bradley if he did come back.

Though I guess Rivers is opting in because he'll get almost $13 million this year. Milos won't be back for a variety of reasons including some mutual ones from what I'm reading.

I actually kinda liked Tyrone Wallace, good defender plus 6-5, shame he can't shoot and is already 24. I imagine they dump Evans before his contract gets guaranteed...Thornwell's kinda a weird player but he's probably more valuable if he doesn't have to log so many minutes and is in spot duty for threes and dees, plus he's got one of those non-guaranteed deals too.

So until Doc starts trying to make Wesley Johnson a two guard yet again, they've really only got a five guard rotation with two rookies in it, and they're kinda all combo guards in style. Plus Thornwell who ideally seems like he somehow needs to become a SF legitimately. Maybe Boban could lend him a couple inches and 10-15lbs. In any case it seems easier to juggle than that front court situation, especially if DeAndre bolts. Maybe they should trade Danilo for Parsons and restage the hostage situation in reverse.

Interesting action there between Mavs and Hawks.

The analytics of trading a 3rd for a 5th plus another first-rounder must heavily favor the Hawks.

I have my doubts that Luka Doncic will be a star in the NBA. His mom his hot though!

So many rumours flying around about Lebron in LA.

 :'(

Not personally a fan of it but it is what it is.

I read how he bought a home there last year(though pretty much every superstar has a place in LA as well) and there is all this talk about his family being a big determinant of where they end up so LA with Paul George makes a lot of sense in that it would satisfy both wants: a great place for his wife and kids that they apparently love and Lebron James being in LA and creating a legit contender. Though I hate to say it because I feel like that path could be incredibly seductive for Cousins to jump ship.

LeBron bought a second home last year, he already had one in LA, this new one may have been owned by Trump based on this description I found online:
Quote
The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar recently bought a $23 million home in Los Angeles' Brentwood neighborhood, the Los Angeles Times first reported. It's James' second real estate purchase in the City of Angels; he owns another home in the same neighborhood, which he bought for $21 million in 2015.

...

The custom-built chef's kitchen features marble countertops, French oak floors and stainless steel appliances gilded in gold.

...

Marble remains a theme throughout the entire home.

Me not wanting Lebron to go to LA is strictly a personal preference kind of thing. Historically I've never been a fan of that franchise. I mean I loved Magic but I still didn't root for them and I really didn't like Kobe. All-Time great player of course but I just personally wasn't a fan.

That would be my least favorite option. I'd rather him stay in Cleveland and just concede not winning any more titles. Or Houston or Philly.

But whatever. He has to do what makes him happy.

I think there's enough Fuck You in Lebron that he wants to go to the West and win a title from there. That's the last knock on his legacy, that he's enjoyed an easier time being in the East his entire career.

Milos opted in. The SGA pick was fine, the Robinson one is the weird one in all honesty, because of his size and skill set. Unless he improves at shooting from three. I definitely think they move 1-2 of the guards on the roster still.
