there is a door that says it's locked, but I have the master key can I use it? if so how? also how do I use my magic, I have the fireball spell but it doesn't let me select it. Also the bondfire saves my game?

Sorceries or Pyromancies?

To cast sorceries you have to equip a Catalyst, a starting equipment for the Sorcerer.

To cast Pyromancies you have to equip a Pyro Glove, a starting equipment for the Pyromancer.

Re: Bonfires,

They're checkpoints. Resting at them will refill your HP guage and restore your Estus Flasks. However, every time you rest at one, all the enemies will respawn, except mini and major bosses.

You'll receive the Glove a little farther into the first area, iirc. You'll have to equip it in one of your L/R hand slots, then switch to it by pressing left or right on the D-pad.

5 Estus Flasks will be restocked every time you rest at a bonfire. If you learn how to reverse your Hollowing, you'll be able to spend a humanity point to "rekindle" a bonfire, which will net you 10 Estus Flasks every time you rest at that bonfire.

Yup, assuming you don't die, and create a new corpse/bloodstain, on your way there.

Nah, the Black Knights are special enemies, only in the final area are they regular enemies. It would be pretty hard to beat him the first time you meet him.

Buy a bow (if you don't have one already) and some wooden arrows from the Undead vendor, then go back to the bridge. Get your timing right and run between fire breaths, you'll find a staircase midway through to the right. This area will allow to continue to the next area from under the bridge, and unlock a shortcut that takes you to the last bonfire you rested at. When you advance from under the bridge, you'll find a spot on the right side where you can target the Dragon's tail using the bow in first person view. Aim and time your arrows right and you should "cut" the Dragon's tail after a bunch of shot. This will earn you the Drake's Sword (200 attack), however I don't think you can use it until you bump you STR to 14 (or 16?). Anyhow, it's the best weapon you can find at that point, and it will annihilate anything for at least 6-10 hours of play.

I did fuck it back and I didn't need no dragon droppings to do it. By sheer manliness I did it. The hair on my chest was erect for a full hour after I trashed Capra with my spear and less-than-100-phys-shield.

Is there any way to increase the number of uses of my pyro flames? Intelligence is what I level up to make my magic increase? Endurance will make my sword swings faster or is that strength?

INT wont increase pyro damage so dont waste any points on INT if you are wanting to go pyro. You rescue a dude who sells you pyro scrolls, if you attune multiples of the same spell you get additional uses.

END increases you stamina bar and load bearing capacity.

STR is a stat that enables you to use bigger weaps. the higher it is, and scales damage on most normal weapons.

nothing makes a sword swing faster, but try to stay under 50% of your equip capacity so you can stay agile

when you get to the depths you can rescue Laurentius of the Great Swamp. He'll go and hang out at Firelink Shrine. He can upgrade your Pyro glove and sell you more spells

So I just tried to kill the gold knight dude I freed in the parish and died, and now I can't find him again to kill him? Will he still come to Firelink?

also spent an hour soul farming to buy heal, which I bought only to realize I'm 4 levels below in faith to use it

edit: fuck now the game is constantly auto-saving. That can't be good.

He does, but ultimately you benefit from letting him do it and following through with the "sub-quest" it starts. He does it at a time when you don't really need Firelink, anyway.

well I've already pissed him off. Now I'm stuck I can't beat him and the stupid autosave bug won't go away until I do. I farmed for a bow and 100 arrows so I could kill the dragon and get the sword only to find out my dexterity is 2 levels below what I need. Now I need to farm 8000 more souls.

If that fight is really getting you down you can always summon an NPC just before you enter the fog door, but you do need to be in human form to do that.
