I agree, and I've even sounded off on the lack of recent diversity in many console games, but like I said, I do so knowing there's always alternatives. Alternatives exist for a reason. Complaining about all pub games is silly and stupid, because you've thrown all games under a big fat bus. Sure, there's a lot of shooters, but that also means there's A LOT OF GOOD ONES.
I just don't get it. On consoles it's understandable, because both consoles share games more than ever these days, and most of the games are multiplatform, and whole genres are oversaturated for a multitude of reasons. But there's also a lot of great games in that pile, and even greater games on the handheld systems and dd services.
It just reeks of lack of foresight and an over eagerness to be contrarian and rebellious than truly embracing gaming. Especially when you start to pimp indie games, which are 99% of the time, total shit.
