First off never slander the god GZA aka Maximilian aka The Genius in my presence again. fuckouttahere
Did you see Whitney Houston's funeral?
You want to change rap music, you gotta get through that.
this x100
I just don't see that mentality changing. While the church is not as important to young black people today as it was once, the church mentality remains. People don't go to church yet claim the movement, claim the blessings, claim the lifestyle...while they party and go wild. Homosexuality is demonic and wrong, yet fucking every woman you can is ok. The hypocrisy is amazing.
Hip hop merely mirrors that mentality while providing a model for many black kids to imitate. You have to be hard, you have to be ignorant, etc....even the slightest hint of gay shit, like hugging another man, is forbidden. I've seen this in young kids, like 6-7 years old and already focused 100% on who's gay, who's fruity, what's gay, what's not gay, etc. While racism seems to lose steam, homophobia just gets bigger and bigger.
I was just reading this today
http://www.spinner.com/2012/02/17/asap-rocky-hip-hop-homophobia/It's definitely refreshing to see a new, image driven rapper come out against homophobia.
