Because its not competing with those systems. Nintendo isn't trying to make people pick its system over another. I assume they were going for their system sitting along side one of the HD consoles. Since they didn't go for adding DVD or Blueray players, didn't focus a lot on online play, or HD graphics.

Back in 2001, FFX's graphics were AWESOME. They aren't held to any standard in today's world, though the art direction is as good as ever.

I guess I was the only one that didn't like the character models outside of Auron. The fashion in the game was also not that great outside of a few characters. But it was a fun game.

when i bought the wii (the first time) i was struck by how cheaply it was made, missing some pretty basic shit in comparison to a system that came out five years prior

other than that, i really don't much care, all this shit passes through my hands at some point (sometimes passing several times), when the wii hits $99 new i'll probably pick another one up for the dozen or so games i'd be interested in playing

But in my mind piracy always is taking something for free that you should have paid for. I bought 95% of my games new and at full price, it's several years later and they're worth a fraction of what I paid, and I just want to get rid of this burdensome collection. Apparently the more morally agreeable thing is to just destroy the games, but I disagree and believe it's better for as many physical copies to be out there as possible.

But whatever, I wandered (backwards) too close to the beehive and got stung. Won't happen again and I won't sell the games.

OK OK I get it, I know. If you want an explanation (but not an excuse), then I'll say that I didn't even know about ripping games when I bought most of my library. When I did rip them, I wanted to get rid of the physical copies, I didn't really care how. But my default for getting rid of a game is selling it to GameStop. It isn't like I wanted to make out for the bandit, everyone here knows I don't need the money.

Nah, I legitimately try to walk the walk I talk. The only kind of the stuff I "pirate" is from Japan and I readily buy it when it makes it over. And I don't even really do that anymore, Funi and Crunchyroll are damn convenient.
