The internet will always be filled with console warriors because being a console warrior is a lot easier when you're a little kid and don't really understand how all this stuff works, and there will always be more little kids to fill the ranks as the old veterans die off. I was like that once. I had other systems [Sony systems, Sega systems, Microsoft systems, PC], but I was always defending Nintendo, trumpeting their successes, glossing over their failures, making rationalizations for their poor console sales and talking up their profits. Maybe it was finally seeing how things went with the Wii that really killed off all desire to keep doing that kind of thing anymore, but I was already beginning to grow out of it regardless, the Wii was just the last straw. See, these companies, all of them, care about just one thing: profits. The followers don't want to believe that, of course, they want to believe their company is different and their company actually cares, but that's not true and never had been. If your favorite company could turn a profit by punching you in the face, they'd do it. Especially in the current market environment. Sure, making great games with tons of effort in them can make money, but not every game that makes money is a great game with a ton of effort in it. Companies make money off terrible games, companies make money off a games that have minimal effort in them. You think Nintendo has integrity that prevents them from using such cheap methods to make a buck? Sadly, some people do. They think their favorite company is as a loyal to them as they are to it. Yeah, good luck with that. Nintendo realized they could make a lot of money, a lot MORE money, by churning out cheap games at high price to people who'd never bought games before. And it's not just Nintendo, of course. Look at what Microsoft is doing right now. Sony fans, how's that Vita treating you? Companies want the money in your wallet and couldn't care less about your loyalty, faithful console warriors.
