I keep trying to convince her to start doing Hentai and Furry commissions to make some dough, but she refuses.

Quote from: Damian79 on March 02, 2011, 10:48:52 PMThing is that i think even kids are sick of your standard Mario and Pokemon.I'm beginning to sense a pattern here. For future reference, don't assume trends with no factual way to support your perception. Mario and Pokemon are doing better than ever.
Thing is that i think even kids are sick of your standard Mario and Pokemon.

Quote from: Damian79 on March 02, 2011, 09:57:07 PMCome on. You havent known kids going from the DS to the iphone?I live in Japan, so no. But of course, the iPhone/iPod Touch is going to take some of those gamers. There's considerable overlap in the kinds of games kids play and what the iOS platform offers. That's not what you were arguing. You were talking the kind of people that float your FFs and Call of Duty games and what have you. I'm just saying, the audience buying traditional games isn't any smaller than it was. The sales numbers show that. The industry isn't having problems because their previously Maddenholic, Mario-loving, Halo-shootin', Oedipal-sword-swinging gamers have migrated to cutting the rope. It's having problems because the budgets for traditional games have outpaced the audience growth. I'm not saying the iPhone isn't absorbing *some* of those gamers, but again, looking at cold, hard numbers, they aren't absorbing a significant amount.
Come on. You havent known kids going from the DS to the iphone?
Pokemon is 15 years old. Mario is 25. What other series have been around this long and have the ability to sell over 10 million units in this day and age?New Super Mario Bros ds/wii substantially improved upon their immediate predecessors. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum reversed the decline the series was in. Your numbers don't support your assertion!

too many games on too many platforms grindan away at wallets, you can see another collapse coming a mile awaynintendo will squirt out a 360/PS3 level system next year and be just fine for a while, although third-party development will remain the sucking black hole it always isit'll be the same shit we've had since 2005, but ninfans will see it and be all
Zelda happens to be one of the most creative franchises in gaming, what might still have similar gameplay since OOT still adds new items and challenges to go through every time, not too mention exceptional design and gameplay with few flaws to speak of. Interesting worlds with interesting backstories and cliches yet good stories with excellent execution. And for those who say this Zelda is gimmicky, you have to remember that every zelda is gimmicky and you're lying if you say it never was. If you prefer one gimmick to another sure, but if you single out one of the series as gimmicky than you are just nitpicking and criticizing your own favorite Zelda.Got your back BN.

What? Like, they've been making an active effort to weaken other makers of games? That's a weird takeaway from the situation.Nintendo absolutely doesn't want anybody other than Nintendo making top-selling games for their platform

Make sure y'all check out Thursday's conference with my man SWERY. Rumor has it that Sho Nuff makes a cameo.

Since I don't use public transportation and only have one hour lunch breaks on weekdays, there's just no good reason for me to play big budget games on a 5 inch screen when I have a 60 inch plasma, HD consoles and a gaming PC. I could be wrong but I think that nowadays most adult gamers don't need or want more than casual mobile games. Keep in mind that when the DS and PSP launched, mobile web-surfing wasn't even 10% as common as it is now. With mobile internet activities taking up so much of the free time outside, it's hard to have any time left for handheld gaming sessions.
i have a 62" led tv and surround sound and guess what i never play consoles on it reliablyalmost all my gaming is done on a laptop or a portable because a) i don't have anyone watching over my shoulder and then having nightmares about rats attacking her; and b) pc and portable games are much better suited to my tastes than most shitty console games. tactics ogre alone is better than anything i've played on a console this generation
psp2 and 3ds really are the future.
I'm just sick of seeing that exact sentence in almost every post of yours about your inability to enjoy console games.

Epic Games has been ‘hugely successful’ with the iOS title Infinity Blade. Epic vice president Mark Rein says that Infinity Blade has greatly surpassed Shadow Complex in terms of sales figures. While Rein did not specifically state sales figures or number of downloads for Infinity Blade, the figures help give a perspective. Infinity Blade is offered at $5.99 while Shadow Complex goes for $15. If Infinity Blade has surpassed Shadow Complex, then at the very least the title has surpassed the 545K units displayed on Shadow Complex’s leaderboards.
Where are the Shining Force games?
