Despite this mess, it appears most PSN users will continue to place their faith in Sony. While it's plain that we are a PlayStation-oriented site, we have a great many readers who remained educated and opinionated on the subject; this isn't about blind loyalty. It seems most are discerning and are capable of discarding the sensationalistic headlines and inaccurate, panic-inducing articles from so-called "journalists" who only sought to nab some extra traffic. We've tried to keep you updated and informed on a daily basis; we told you as soon as Sony confirmed a security breach, and we called out Sony for staying quiet for too long. But we did what we could to filter out the stupidity and as a result, educated PSN followers appear ready and willing to return to the Network. This week, we want to contrast that data with the amount of time you normally spend on the Network (playing games, Store, Netflix, Qriocity, etc.). In other words, this will give us a better idea of how forgiving you are: if you only play a couple hours per week on the PSN, it's easier to forgive Sony, isn't it? If you're really suffering from online deprivation, though, can you still be patient and return to the Network without any grudges? What do you say?
If game sharing gets affected in any way because of this clusterfuck, I'll defect for real this time.

Too late for them, media has already started FUD campaign
Also:Quote from: sfag r-tardStarting to pop up on mainstream sites.Hopefully that headline doesn't manifest itself into an outright PSN not back till end of May as the article starts to swim out to most gaming news websites.Don't think we can handle many more waves of FUD amidst our despair of having no PSN.

K granted I don't live in a very BIG town we only have 3 game stores here. But I went to buy a 360 after hearing no PSN for a month and can't fucking take this anymore so I went and none of the stores we have here, Target, Gamestop, or Best Buy, had any 360's left. All sold out. One guy said alot of them can't wait anymore too and they started to come in droves.

UPDATE: Sony has informed us that Bloomberg's wording, which was the foundation of this story, is inaccurate and the May 31 "deadline" does not exist. There does not appear to be any hard deadline established, only to return services as Sony determines the appropriate security measures are in place.

Sony plans to bring PlayStation Network matchmaking back online within the next couple of days, according to a trusted Eurogamer source. When contacted for comment, SCE corporate communications director Patrick Seybold told Eurogamer, "We're working to get the network back on as soon as we can." Meanwhile, a PlayStation Europe community manager has confirmed that Sony intends to get online gaming back up and running before other PSN services. "Once again, 31st May is the date for FULL restoration of PSN services. Restoration is phased. Online gaming will return BEFORE May 31st," read a post on MusterBuster's Twitter feed earlier today. Over the weekend, a Sony spokesperson warned that full PSN service might not return until 31st May.

apart from having my personal info stolen i'm actually getting a pretty good chuckle out of all thismy favourite one from the fantards right nowwith regards to sony's preparedness for the initial attack: "Hey nothing is unhackable, the most dedicated hackers can bring any service down if they try hard enough!"with regards to sony's preparedness for future attacks: "IT IS AN IMPOSSIBILITY THAT THEY WILL BE HACKED AGAIN, 100% GUARANTEED SAFE! START PLANNING YOUR PURCHASES NOW, FRIENDS!"

At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.LOL SONY

Sony's had less bumps in the road than most other platform holders and this is the thanks you show them? I've been angry about this as much as the next guy but it takes a sane person to know when to push and when to forgive. I'm going to do my part by spending $80 on PSN when it comes back up and I suggest you do the same... I suggest everyone of the 77 million users do the same. Imagine what 1.6 billion dollars can do for a company like Sony after this kind of crisis. We should all be thinking about what we can do to help. If Sony goes down, could you seriously live with all those lost jobs on your head? My friend always said people in stone glasses can't through houses. He was right in many ways even though he was wrong in the head; I knew what he meant. You could learn a thing or two about optimism from him.

PSN Problems Make Trouble for Dark Souls DevsThe game's producer has implied that there might be delays on the horizon if the outage goes on for too much longer. From Software has admitted that Sony's ongoing issues with the PlayStation Network have proven slightly problematic for the development of Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to its notoriously hard action RPG, Demon's Souls. While he didn't go into details, producer Kei Horono implied that the PSN situation was hampering development so much that there was a question mark over whether the game would make its October release date. Horono downplayed this possibility a little though, saying that From Software was in contact with Sony and hadn't altered its plans.
uncharted 2 in hard.... mad skillz?
