actually, I might have liked the demo.  It's saved in the "demo" folder on my PS3, which is usually a reminder that I need to buy the full game eventually.  Maybe I liked it and forgot.

Is it an expansion that has new characters/gameplay-systems but is missing all the storylines of Basara 3?  Or is it the superior version of Basara 3 with even more content and better gameplay?


Now that Basara 3 is getting pretty low in price around the world (still not touching the US version because I don't want dub-only Japanese warriors, but asia/jpn have greatest hits out for about $30), I'm thinking about grabbing Basara 3 and then Utage, but I'd rather just get Utage if it replaces Basara 3.

It's an expansion with new characters/content, including 2P modes, new stages, 14 new characters, and some type of tag mode.  Unification mode is also returning.  There are new stories for the new characters and tweaks/new moves for the returning characters.

Nobody seems to be mentioning anything about Utage at TGS, so I guess Capcom still hasn't unveiled the final six new characters on the roster.

I loved it, and if the save data from the J version was compatible with the U.S. version, I'd order it for ten bucks.  Awesome game if you are a fan of FoTN, pretty good if you like musou, and OMGHOLYSHIT if you like both.

I just answered this for you, dude.  It's an expansion for SB3, so it likely will not include SB3's storylines, only the new ones.  SB2 Heroes on Wii was like this too-- they gave you both the original SB2 and Heroes in the same package was all...still two separate titles.

Tecmo Koei is adding social aspects to its Musou Orochi series sequel, Musou Orochi 2. In its reveal article on the game this week, Famitsu details a scenario customization system.

Players can create custom scenarios for the game. These can be uploaded to a server for other players to download. Players can leave comments about user created scenarios, helping to build up a community of Orochi fans.

Famitsu's first report on Musou Orochi 2, the next entry in the series that's known internationally as Warriors Orochi, lists a release time frame of December. Our initial report said that the game is coming to both PS3 and Xbox 360. PS3 is confirmed, but we're not sure about 360 just yet.

Famitsu lists PS3 only, but that's probably just for Japan.

Here's the final word on the platform status for Musou Orochi 2. The game is coming to both PS3 and Xbox 360. Famitsu lists the two platforms in its reveal article this week.

We originally reported the game as due for both platforms based off some blurry images from Famitsu, but got spooked when none of our usual flying get sources listed 360 along with PS3. We've now seen a clear shot of the magazine, and it does indeed list both platforms.

Platform aside, here's one intriguing gameplay bit to go along with the scenario customization system details we provided earlier. The magazine says that the game will have over 120 characters -- the most for the series.

Orochi games are fuck awesome and the first two had insane 'cheevs to get. Prior to DW7 being released I'm pretty sure WO2 was the go to game for musouage.

Yup...Musou Orochi and Musou Orochi: Maoh Sairin are the Japanese names.

Uh, the basic story of Dynasty Warriors is a bunch of different Chinese dudes want to run China and kill lots of other dudes whilst vying for said privilege. Samurai Warriors is the same story except swap out Japan/Japanese for China/Chinese.

DW7's story mode owns and is great fan service if you remotely enjoy the novel/story. It's the only DW I've played where the story is actually something that resembles having a plot.

The story in the Orochi games is self-contained...DW and SW base themselves on historical events.  Orochi is all fantasy.  What is there to know besides picking characters that interest you and beating the shit out of enemies?

Do musou games not drop price or go on sale?

I know Fist of the North Star took FOREVER, but when it did drop it was $10!  And it had been at $20 a few times.  I'm not in a rush so I can wait for a good DW7 price unless you are saying it's not going to drop.

I tried to get DW7 during the TRU sale since Himuro says the game won't drop in price and I do want to check it out, but no luck.  Was sold out. 

New plan is wait for Black Friday sales and see if any place discounts it, otherwise just pick it up after that at full price so I can play my first mainline DW since like...5 (it's the only other one I played and just briefly)?

This week's Famitsu has specific new info on Warriors Orochi 3 (Musou Orochi 2), which confirms the guest characters that are appearing from non-main Warriors games. The confirmed characters are Achilles from Warriors: Legends of Troy, Jeanne d'Arc from Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, and Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.
