I played SR1 but skipped 2 (yeah, I know). I'm sure that's part of my over-the-top LURVE for this game. I just never thought a sandbox game could be, uh, FUN. Rockstar needs to swallow a big mouthful of shotgun as penance for their boring games of stupid badness.

2 is terrible don't feel bad.

I thought SR1 was a plenty-fun "me too" effort from Volition, with the unfortunate attitude of "oh, yeah? we're more STREET than you are, GTA!"

SR2 embraced its own status as the Crown Prince of Everything that Rockstar Forgot. After GTA IV dropped the ball by refocusing on a character-driven narrative rather than letting players explore a world and find things to do in it, Volition picked up where they left off. The whole game can be played in co-op, including the Activities, where the duties are commonly split between the players, e.g. driving-or-shooting.

SR2 is muy, muy fabuloso. Worth checking out, and apparently if you're playing it on PS3, you've got a free copy of SR2 for buying it new and using the online pass.

Game is pretty awesome so far.  I agree with whichever reviewer said that this is the game that the people who freak out over GTA always thought GTA was- pretty much the id of an insane 13 year old boy turned into a game, which is an awesome thing.  If anyone else has the game on steam and wants to coop let me know.

It is shorter than 2. My friend 100%'d it in less than a week, it took him months to 100% SR2. I've played SR2 for over 90 hours and have yet to 100% it.

Just wait till you get the best toys.

But here's a tip:

Level up the .45 Shepard and the default SMG to level 4. SMG has incendiary ammo and .45 Shepard has explosive ammo. With the smg, you can set one person on fire, and then they will flail and set the others around them on fire. A level 4 .45 can blow up a police copter in a few shots. Also take advantage of the octopus gun, they act as the satchel charges in this game and are fucking useful at the beginning.

Here's a neat trick:

Place a vehicle that normally can't be customized in your garage. Jack a customizable vehicle and drive it into a rimjobs. From the rimjobs menu, choose your garage. Highlight the non-customizable vehicle and press B (or whatever button is "back" on your respective system), then choose accept.

Result? You're now customizing a non-customizable vehicle. Change the color on whatever you want! Some of them even have body mods available.

Unfortunately I don't think this will work with airborne vehicles.

Do they ever explain what "feel boss" means? The Boss asks Shaundi when they first get to the city, and I saw a hobo holding a sign that says it (I also saw someone holding up a sign that says "Shaundi Is A Whore"), but then it never comes up again.

Finally catching up with this thread, and I wanted to respond to this because I love the story.

When we got the final version of the cutscene that takes place after landing in Steelport, we noticed that the group that had done the cutscene had added a sign saying "Feel Boss $5". Nobody here had any idea what it meant, but it seemed appropriate, so we just...ran with it. We added some lines about it, and I think there's at least one commercial that references it.

We still have no clue what it means, or why it was put on that sign.

Three more story missions left. It had a rocky start, but this is the best damn campaign of any crime sandbox game I've ever played. I mean, you don't do as much completely EVIL shit as you do in SR2, but fuck, who CARES.

At this point, SR3 > SR2, despite the stuff we lost.

They really nailed the car handling. It's loose enough to be fun, but it's still got some weight to it so your car doesn't feel like it's just floating around. Far better than GTAIV, which was like steering a boat through an ocean of molasses.

In SR2 Insurance Fraud was also easier to beat in Co-op, because both players are adding to the moneypile and the adrenaline counter.

I'm starting to become quite disappointed with the city, and not just the size of it. Stillwater in SR2 had so many unique and recognisable areas, this just feels like one big urban area with some skyscrapers, an industrial zone and an airport. It's even more evident when you start to fly around.

I miss the hidden areas like the underground sex dungeon, or the graveyard and its numerous tombs, or the people doing tai chi and the barber shop singers. More people to kill! Also miss people running out nude. SR3 has easter eggs but I haven't fully explored it enough to tell if it has secrets like 2 yet.

They could easily do that, there's only six of them and you could make enough variation to make it interesting. You could also do co-op/versus play in them too.

co-op'd most of yesterday with the misses. Time flew! The game is simply put everything I was wanting. Sadly its got issues. Like why the fuck can't my coop partner make a gps coordinate so I can fucking see it on my mini map? Also where is the spice girls songs? I need more sing a long car songs god damnit!

Funniest thing to do thus far is to piss off a gang then take the fight to a localy owned ammo shop. When one was done with bullets they just go inside and buy some more. And if it got too hot both of us just go into the store and bam they forget about us.

Also since I was the one playing in her game. It wouldn't tell me I could do things in some of the co-op activities. I fucked up the tiger one cause I had no Idea what the fuck I was to do. Same with the fire missions where you can throw cocktails around while your partner drives through shit.

I do have a question though. I want to change the color of the vehicle known as "BEAR" but using the trick doesn't seem to work. I wanted a pimped out purple one damnit.
