Yeah but Monster Hunter actually has good graphics for once.
I'll trade Capcom's inevitable demise for that.
Now, now. MonHanWorld has good word of mouth, and seems to have a pretty good open worldish polish to the gameplay and heavy duty multiplayer involvement on consoles with an actual friendlist/online structure which should make good use of the social aspect of Monster Hunter gaming. It's a solid effort, apparently.
So who's to say they won't profit off viciously backstabbing Nintendo fanboys? It worked pretty well for them when they did it to Sony fanboys before. While they will have major pains with their home market and it's bias towards handhelds, the West may very well finally see what MonHan has to offer.
Only problem is that they could end up with a Tri situation, where people buy a moderate-to-good amount of games, but not really enough to make the whole thing worth the trouble and risk. I doubt it will crash and burn, unless it suddenly is uncovered that it's actually a bad game (lootboxes/DLC/IAP nightmares, crashes, bugs, etc).
I'm gonna miss smacking around some Dino on my way to work, though. And in a restaurant with my buddy. It's not the same without someone you can scream at and punch when the Gs charge hits perfectly (or when it doesn't

).
