Respec'ing again.  Crit chance to 35.5 and dmg at +199 now.  50k crits with magic missile are hilarious.

no

Make sure you've already attached a paypal account to your bnet account unless you want to be stuck with bnet balance, though.

I really need to NOT price all the stuff my Wizard's carrying around on him, I'm pretty sure I could sell some of it for $15+ per piece.  If I do then I'll probably just liquidate his gear, then start over.  I'm still kicking myself over that legendary ring that I sold for 8 million... thing probably goes for $50 easy on the RMAH.

HIDE YO KIDS, HIDE YO WIFE

THEY RAPIN ERBODY IAS UP IN HURR

Leaked data for the IAS% nerfs is floating around out there:

    Weapons
        Haste 1: Old: (2-3%) New: (2%)
        Haste 2: Old: (4-5%) New: (2%)
        Haste 3: Old: (6-7%) New: (2-3%)
        Haste 4: Old: (8-9%) New: (2-3%)
        Haste 5: Old: (10-11%) New: (3-4%)
        Haste 6: Old: (12-13%) New: (3-4%)
        Haste 7: Old: (14-15%) New: (5%)
        Haste 8: Old: (16-17%) New: (6-7%)
        Haste 9: Old: (18-19%) New: (8-9%)
        Haste 10: Old: (20-25%) New: (10-11%)

Other Types (Rings, Amulet, Gloves, Legendaries)
        Haste 1: Old: (2-3%) New: (2%)
        Haste 2: Old: (4-5%) New: (2-3%)
        Haste 3: Old: (6-7%) New: (3-4%)
        Haste 4: Old: (8-9%) New: (3-4%)
        Haste 5: Old: (10-11%) New: (4-5%)
        Haste 6: Old: (12-13%) New: (5-6%)
        Haste 7: Old: (14-15%) New: (6-7%)
        Haste 8: Old: (16-17%) New: (8-9%)

Legit?  I don't know.  Glad I've refocused on a crit chance/dmg build though.  Sell all of your IAS gear now boritos before everyone gets wise to the incoming nerfs.

I knew the nerfs were coming, though I was hoping they were going to go with the plan to make it so IAS had diminishing returns when you stacked it so you could still have 1 baller piece of IAS gear and it be worth it  :'( So far I've only got some cheap blue IAS gear anyways, with my low ilvl inferno gear + 35% IAS I can run A1 Inferno pretty easily. Soon as I touch Act 2 I get boned though, and I'm not putting in the hours to grind up to the gear req.

My plan is to keep up with my crit chance/dmg build and slowly swap out my gear that doesn't have sockets for roughly equivalent stuff with sockets and stuff fully leveled topaz gems into it and increase my dps that way.  Of course, there's always the chance that after the nerfs happen IAS stuff craters on the AH and you can get stuff for cheap.  As it is now it's crazy- I sold my one IAS item (a ring with 12% IAS, 2.5 crit chance and 22% crit dmg) for 4 million a couple minutes ago.  I put it up on the AH and it got bought within 30 minutes...

edit: also, has anyone got any of the jeweler design pages for more powerful gems to drop?  Haven't seen one in Acts 1, 2 or the beginning of 3.  See a BS plan every now and then though.

You could probably get millions for those now, no kidding.  Everybody is on IAS and it's completely baffling... Blizzard has SAID they're going to nerf it.  The data (if you believe it) is out SHOWING HOW BAD they're gonna nerf it.  But people are still paying a really high premium for it on the AH.

Honestly, on rings, amulets, gloves etc it won't be useless but it's not gonna be what it was.  The real kick in the balls is gonna be on weapons... that IAS% is factored into the weapon's DPS value.  So, your 850 dps wand with 10% IAS just lost some dps, enjoy.  Like I said, I've already sold my IAS stuff but I think you'd be crazy not to at this point while people are still inexplicably buying. :P

I would price it a bit less than comparable stuff just so it sells quick and you can guarantee yourself some quick cash.  Note that all of my experience with this in the past couple of days is on the Gold AH; no clue how stuff is going on the RMAH.

Maybe if they're distinguished mentally-challenged. I just checked, Attack Speed 15% + Dex, max buyout < 20k and I get pages and pages. People just go nuts for dem rares. Crazy that somebody paid 4 mil for your 12% IAS + some crit stats ring  :dizzy that's a lot of grinding/money spent buyin gold to waste on something so average. I am definitely going to try putting stuff up at more silly prices in future.

edit: IAS + crit dam + crit chance is a much nicer combo than IAS + dex though. A build around that would be cool, but too rich for my blood.

Fuuuuuuck didn't think it'd be out until next week.  1.0.3 hits tomorrow Boritos!

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5837135682

Quote
We will be performing scheduled maintenance for Diablo III starting tomorrow at 3:00 a.m. PDT in order to deploy patch 1.0.3. We anticipate that maintenance will conclude and that all services will be available by approximately 1:00 p.m. PDT.

Holy shit :lol

Quote
As a reminder, we will be nerfing "Increases Attack Speed" (IAS) effects on all items except quivers with the 1.0.3 patch. This change does affect unidentified items as well, as item affixes and ranges are determined at the time of an item being dropped, and not when identified.

"Yeah bro, those demon hunters?  No big deal.  Monks?  Fucking out of control, gotta reign them bastards in."

bah

It's not an issue of difficulty to me, moreso a problem with drop rates artificially making the game difficult. I've spent a lot of time farming to no avail, and all my current gear came from the AH. I hate having to wait for a patch before completing content in a game...but in this case I don't feel bad.

To be fair Blizz certainly knows if someone else has beaten their content first. Same with WoW

To be fair, Bashiok's later tweets made it clear that he didn't know.

To be fair, don't make the mistake of thinking I want to discuss bullshit like this seriously

1.0.3 is live in the US, AH still down but whatevs.  Played some 4 player act 2 and while it was still not "easy" per se it was much less "dick punchingly awful".  You could actually farm there now.

Repair costs tho.  :-\

So Legendaries.

Is it even worth it to hold on to my shit for now since Blizzard will eventually buff them? I'm running out of storage space and am wondering if they are good nest eggs to keep. Of course there is no telling which and what stats on the legendary will be buffed, so it's a crap-shoot on what will be useful anyway :-\

I think Legendaries that have already dropped aren't going to be buffed.
