Hm, my bad. The last line in the description in-game does say "additional gold/XP/legendary drop rate per slider tick" though. That's what counts most, anyway.

For some reason i have it in my head marathon runs from start to finish gets better loot. Like it is based on how much time you play the game or something. I am probably wrong though.

Really, though- it's mind blowing how RIGHT loot feels now. Even with my better geared characters I still frequently get stuff that might not be an across the board upgrade, but it makes me pause and think, "hmm."

tl;dr They increase the chance of a legendary drop the longer you go without one.

Keeping that in mind, whole act clears would look like they boost your chance just by virtue of how long they take.

I knocked it up to Torment II and cleared most of Act I. I reset quests before I noticed that they changed it from a guaranteed Legendary for beating the Skeleton King after reset, to a guaranteed Legendary for beating Diablo.

BTW, I found the Adventurer's Journal component for this.

Just from the eyeball test, it definitely does. I feel like I get more yellow drops than anything else, to be honest! And you for sure get more as a proportion the higher you ratchet the difficulty up.

Now that everyone's playing again, we need to do some key runs. Key Wardens seem to drop a lot in Torment, and you don't have to worry about Nephalem Valor stacks anymore.

With keys you can make a portal, with a portal you can go fight some bosses and have a chance to get a special drop, and with three of the drops, you can craft a Hellfire Ring.

We did it twice though, and got nuthin'.

After running the Act 3 warden 4 or 5 times this morning with no key drops, I checked and the drop rates are fucking abysmal now- something like 25% for Torment 1, 28% for Torment 2. LULZ. I don't mind doing it but I'm not giving the monsters 1/3 more health for a 3% increase. NOT VERY GOOD VALUE, SIR.

I only played WD for the longest time and hit a wall in act 2. Those fucking wasps alone... Started a Barb and had a MUCH easier time, even in act 1. Don't remember exactly how far I got before the nerf hit.

Were there even any legendaries worth having at that point? I know weapons were almost all shit because of the lower weapon damage rolls.

I got a legendary from a weapon rack once. Some shit quiver. Then they nerfed what racks could drop into the ground.
Even farmed Goblins for a while, just so I could progress.

That's what made me want to blow my brains out.

You could at least AFK that and do something fun. There also were those spires you could literally AFK if you found two close together. The small spiders they spawn killed themselves against the electric shield and you just need to move a bit every now and then to hoover up all the gold.

in me thinks vases only dropped gold to kickstart the economy.

Here's an example of how shitty loot was back then: I PAID GOLD FOR THIS WAND AND IT WAS AN UPGRADE. To the right you can see what I'm rolling with now, which is just "ok" since I sold all of my massively OP shit for DAT GOLD.

There was this bug where the green wasps they shoot could be invisible. Fun times in hardcore. Some wizard died to those on stream or something. There was video of it, in any case.

You cant do that as DH's any more, ie the glass cannon build. You need to actually build SOME armor and resistances.
