Its no surprise that the rise of John Cena was at the same time I stopped giving a shit. I'm not blaming him specifically, since he worked fine before. Mostly how everything just fell apart, I mostly blame the brand split.
I read, years ago already, that John Cena actually played a large part in the changeover to the PG format. So maybe he should be blamed. :p
The brand split no longer matters with everything being a "supershow."
It's really just that bigger-name guys left/retired/died/killed their families, then themselves and tons and tons of crazy shit was done in the late 90s/early 2000s. They keep failing to build up Austin/Rock level stars and long-term feuds are booked terribly and go on for way too damn long. Despite the brand split, it's also still the same few people in the main event. It's great that Ryback is getting a title shot, but he's not ready for it. And let's not forget that other guys like Jack Swagger were also in the main event picture...then pushed back down to the lower-midcard.
Also the divas divisions is beyond terrible. Nobody cares. With the PG rating, they can't even go the T and A route. It's all completely wasted.
