Didn't watch RAW this week.  Felt good man.

But probably still gonna watch the PPV.

Its no surprise that the rise of John Cena was at the same time I stopped giving a shit. I'm not blaming him specifically, since he worked fine before. Mostly how everything just fell apart, I mostly blame the brand split.

I read, years ago already, that John Cena actually played a large part in the changeover to the PG format.  So maybe he should be blamed.  :p

The brand split no longer matters with everything being a "supershow."

It's really just that bigger-name guys left/retired/died/killed their families, then themselves and tons and tons of crazy shit was done in the late 90s/early 2000s.  They keep failing to build up Austin/Rock level stars and long-term feuds are booked terribly and go on for way too damn long.  Despite the brand split, it's also still the same few people in the main event.  It's great that Ryback is getting a title shot, but he's not ready for it.  And let's not forget that other guys like Jack Swagger were also in the main event picture...then pushed back down to the lower-midcard.

Also the divas divisions is beyond terrible.  Nobody cares.  With the PG rating, they can't even go the T and A route.  It's all completely wasted.

No there wasn't, there was a period where it was less bad than it usually is so it seems good. The low standards of what constitutes a good show is hilarious.

They fucked up by not making new stars when they had dozens of guys coming through OVW who were good but they killed them all.

I'm slightly interested in the PPV but only because they booked themselves into a corner with Ryback, not because they've created a good build.

I hate John Cena as a character and a wrestler and what he's done to the company.

But I can't hate him as a person because he's such a good guy. Have you guys seen all those Make A Wish Foundation wishes he's made?! :(

the best example of this is the miz. went from having the wwe championship to losing to fucking kofi kingston for the intercontinental belt. Is there a wrestler who was downgraded so fast ever before?

JACK.  SWAGGER THWAGGER.

Even if they don't get the belt, they'll push guys and then bury them quickly.  Look at the Nexus- the angle was white-hot (it was like the nWo with the NXT guys) and they fucked it all up pretty quickly.  Wade Barrett was the number one heel on RAW, then he floundered on Smackdown! and has recently re-debuted to the midcard.

I didn't bother with RAW except for the last 10 minutes.  And predictably, the NXT-3 came out at the end and beat up Ryback again.

And it's now Cena/Ziggler?  Shouldn't that be Orton/Ziggler?  Weird.

This shit is so fuckin' boring.  Hurry up and get to the Rumble.

CM Punk's promo on Raw this week was money.

Did you see this?

"The show did a 2.55 overall rating, down from last week's 2.72. This was the lowest number for RAW in nearly 15 years for a non-holiday show. Viewership data is in for Monday's 12/3 edition WWE RAW and the show lost almost a half million viewers from last week."

Quote
"Naked Jelly Donut Stinkface" is probably not a phrase you've heard before, but former WWE developmental wrestler Devon Nicholson has issued a statement addressing the reports of 'inappropriate conduct' at WWE's former training school at Deep South Wrestling.Nicholson sent the following to Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com:"I was in DSW during the time of the incident between Zack Ryder, Melissa Coates and Drew Hankinson. Nobody involved in the "Naked Jelly Donut Incident" were forced to do it. They volunteered to do it to get out of training that day. Bill had come up with the elaborate game because he wanted them to train and didn't think they'd agree to it."Hankinson was not "nearly naked" he was totally naked, the only thing covering his genital area were his hands. He was in the ring nude for approximately 30 - 45 minutes while Demott walked from one corner to the other holding up approximately 18 jelly donuts for Hankinson to "stink face" on both Zack Ryder and Melissa Coates. Ryder and Coates were cheered on heavily by many of the DSW talent who also did not want to train.""I had passed a try out and was paying to be there to learn wrestling and attempt to get a WWE contract but went back to wrestling in Puerto Rico shortly after this incident occurred. I doubt Vince McMahon knew that this type of "training" was going on in his territory and I had assumed him finding out was one of the reasons it was shut down and Demott was let go. Although I disagreed with some of his training methods, I had a good relationship with Bill Demott while I was in DSW and valued the wrestling related advice he gave me."

If they win with classic cowardly heel tricks they are DEAD. The only way to keep their momentum is to have them go over strong and dominant over KANE, BRYAN and THE RYBACK. Not seeing Vince oking that ever.

What is the point of getting these three guys e-nerds drool over if not to make them show of what they got? These guys are technical, talented wrestlers and don't need the help. I don't think they will use heel techniques. I'm not getting that vibe from them.

PWInsider.com is reporting there is a big push internally in WWE to make the product edgier.

While this is not Vince McMahon's idea, he's said to be on-board with listening for ideas as he recognizes numbers are down across the board. The hope is in light of the low ratings, to give the audience something different compared to what they've been seeing over the last couple years. According to the report, we can also expect to see more wrestling heavy programming.

Don't get too excited, himu, the dirt sheets report crap like this every few months.   :-\

It's still a big pet peeve of mine how quick they are to adapt wrestling lingo.  I don't remember anyone calling it "the product" until HHH started doing so in interviews, and now all these marks throw it around.   :lol

Isn't the wrestling product supposed to be cyclical anyways? Us kids who grew up jacking off to Hulk Hogan kiddie fare ended up jacking off to Stone Cold flipping middle fingers and spraying everyone with beer.

I'm sure the kids who grew up on John Cena are teenagers now at this point

They went PG to attract more advertisers and appeal to a larger audience -and it worked- so I don't see them changing things up anytime soon.  Their ratings a taking a tumble but it's also football season.

Would love to be completely wrong on this since I find their shows on average to be dullsville and the divas without ass n' titties on display are a waste of space.

They're never this far down from football. Shows are boring, and 3hrs makes it worse since the third hour is becoming the least watched part. They don't need to be edgier, they just need to be better. Having to script ( ::) ) 8+hrs of first run programming a week (10+ on PPV weeks) is ridiculous.
