I read it's super popular, still sells well, and considering how mature a lot of anime is why can't it be adapted to show the later stuff. I've already dipped a toe into phaggotry, I can't afford to dive in (ie read manga).

The content in the manga is...not palpable for Japanese television. It IS for ovas and films. However, doing the sheer amount of content Berserk has accumulated in film or ova is massively expensive. However, they are doing the non-Golden Age parts. The fourth film will be the first non Golden Age animated Berserk.

A lot of innocent lives could be have saved, but a lot of lives that make up the world today wouldn't exist. The past is the past. Let it go.

Late to the weeaboo party, but last anime I watched was Basterd and it was fucking raw! Been meaning to check out the manga since.

It's fun for a while. Spotting all the metal references in the names is kinda neat, too, and his monsters look like metal album covers. But then it goes to utter and complete shit. I think Hagiwara had one or two nervous breakdowns during the creation of it. Flip through some of the later volumes, like 23 or so and just look at the art. It's immediately obvious that he's lost it.

I remember seeing this and not being too impressed. I enjoyed the animu a lot but this was... meh. I guess I should mention I'm not a fan of anime films in general. I tried to watch this one piece movie but didn't make it past a few minutes.

The style is quite shit. I think I read the manga before watching this and personally I thought the manga was better. Especially because the art wasn't so shit and didn't differ from the anime.

Are you sure you watched Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal [the 4-episode OVA] and not Samurai X: The Motion Picture [the 90-minute movie]? They're pretty different [as in, different crews and different animation studios] and the latter is kinda garbage.

I did enjoy Wicked City, which has some tentacles, but all the amazing things about that one allowed me to tolerate it.

If you liked Wicked City, go out and watch everything else that Yoshiaki Kawajiri directed. Like Cyber City Oedo, Goku: Midnight Eye, Ninja Scroll, Lensman, Vampire Hunted D: Bloodlust, and Demon City Shinjuku. The guy's basically the Hayao Miyazaki of hyper-violent B-movie anime.

That's the bad dub. They had weird names for everyone. The dub on Crunchyroll is better. It's got Blum as Shishio.

Everyone should watch Samurai Flamenco. It's a drama anime about a guy who wants to be a superhero with a realistic take on it. Kind of like Kick-Ass without the vulgarity.

That's the older Sony dub which wasn't great and they redid it when the rights to the series was acquired by some other company IIRC (which is what Toonami aired). Also IIRC that older dub is where the name "Samurai X" originally came from also.

I have a slight fondness for that older dub though because that's what was shown in my area way way before Toonami even fucking existed and showed the newer dub. Also it was completely uncensored so all the violence and stuff was left intact, compared to the eventual Toonami version that had to be edited.

light decide to throw away the death note and give it to the mafia so he and L can investigate the mafia and clear all suspicion on him ("just according to keikaku") then somewhere along the road (i can't remember if it's after or before what i just said happen) this character called misa get introduced,she find a new death note and a new death god related with it,light manipulates stuff so that L find that misa is the one doing all the killing,this drives death god #2 into killing L because he's in love with misa and want her safe,it also kills death god #2 because there is some bullshit rule that they can't kill certain people or something

but then it turns out that L was actualy from some sort of orphanage where they raise super detective so two new character called near and mello (N and M hur dur get it) take the case,light in the meanwhile give the deathnote to some random dude which he controls,stuff happens,some character die and then near finaly corners light,right after that happen,ryuk decide the jig is up and kill light

These are things I've shown to non-anime people and they've enjoyed them. Especially Bebop and Ghost in the Shell.
