No, we get it. Like you say: We're talking the reality. He can build himself up as some all important face and the E3 badge is a slap in that face, but the industry doesn't see him as important and he needs to stop trying to inflate his ego and just sell it already.

I believe there is no bad publicity, there is only publicity.
And yea, publishers may be abandoning ship but that doesn't hurt the WiiU cause you can't hurt what's already dead.

Nintendo will keep doing their own thing and they will surely get back up, either by selling tons of NFC and resurrecting the WiiU or by building their infrastructure from now on leading to their next console.

And when Nintendo will start selling tons again, because only they can make it sell tons, not any third party, see the Wii if in doubt, then the third parties will jump back in.
Don't worry too much about them leaving now, they are as loyal as pet hyenas.

Quote from: Green Slime;113049907
Publishers actively banked on the Wii U failing, and treated the Wii U audience like trash as a result. Mind you, this is the successor to the most successful system last gen (again, another platform that third parties actively dropped their fecal matter on), and yet it was relegated to "practically non-existent" status from the get-go.

Some are shocked by Ubisoft's move, but I'm not. Once Rayman Legends was delayed to keep it competitive with the 360 & PS3 versions, but the same courtesy wasn't offered to Watch Dogs a year later, it was obvious to me that Ubisoft never was fully on-board, and their sloppy ports on the system are the proof.

He'd clear about 5.5mil after taxes and such.  Assuming he lives for 50 more years, that breaks down to 110 grand a year, not counting any additional income from investments, interest earned, etc. I'd definitely take it and run like hell, but it might not be enough for a really young person to retire and live a lifetime of leisure. Who knows what the cost of living will be 30-40 years from now.

Everyone sounds like such an idiot in those threads, but at least EV gives me comfort food posts. (i.e. Stuff I'd read in a Party paper.) Shit sometimes I don't even feel like going over to Red Phoenix after seeing him go full party line.

I don't even really understand the "NEWS ONLY" thing since it's mostly like two or three guys giving one sentence translations of Ukrainian news/twitters that mean nothing and then a bunch of handwringing about Russia/Putin. Why would you read that thread to keep up on events in the Ukraine?

Ah, whatever, typical NATO/CIA front organization astroturfing/sockpuppet behavior.

The APL (the party that runs that paper) is Hoxhaist in the year 2014, you know that shit is pure, distilled anti-revisionism. :geoff

One of the M-L parties in the UK (CPGB-PCC) does gossip columns about competing parties in their podcast and their posted writings (Weekly Worker), which I also highly recommend, but to find it humorous you need quite a bit of familiarity with the multitude of competing parties there.

Yeah, I just read three articles referencing the utopia of 1980's Albania where True Communism was almost fully achieved.

Quote
The power of the capitalists also exists in prevailing ideology. It is their ideas, their beliefs and values, which are upheld as “correct” and “common sense” in our society.

We are taught that the wealthy owners of our society are our “betters” and that they, by virtue of their wealth, know what is best for us. This “teaching” can be understood as their hegemony.

Take, for instance, the iconic character of Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has her own show, her own magazine with her face on every cover, a book club with a special sticker placed on books that she likes, and even her own network, aptly called OWN.

On this OWN network, she has a show called the “Master Class,” fetishizing those who have “mastered the game called life.” While some would find it ironic that a black woman would have a show fetishizing a “Master Class,” Oprah is unknowingly doing us a service by laying bare the blatant functions of hegemony through her own personality cult. Why do we care what Oprah thinks? Why should we? Why pick up a book at the book store with an “Oprah” sticker on it over any other book?

The British far-left :stahp

I used to hang around with certain folks along with RCG people. They'd always try and flog their papers almost as much as the SWP do, before boring you do death about scientific socialism or something at the drop of a hat.

Speaking of the SWP, a few weeks ago I saw a bunch of them set up on a stall in the dead centre of Manchester saying stupid EV-type stuff through a megaphone about Russia and NATO. Shouted at them full volume to fuck off and about half a second later realised just where I was and what I said. Picked up the pace a little, to say the least :whew

Detective GAF is fucking amazing.
No, it's really not. Gary made some comments that anyone with any sense would make, and is now in a position where those comments could potentially hurt his career after being offered the job of a lifetime (which he surely had no idea would be on the agenda at the time). Once you're on someone's payroll, what you say impacts them too, so he edited out some old posts to try to damage control any potential PR fallout.

Why exactly is he being shamed for it? This isn't an Amir0x situation where he's caught in a lie.

Let's be real though: Does anyone here (or even at GAF)  have any hope of the "new trilogy" with Whitta penning it? The same Whitta the penned a movie for M. Night, Will Smith/Scientology, and his "original" screenplay's plot-twist barely makes sense outside of suspending disbelief for "oh, he was guided by 'God'"?

it might be worth noting that he's not actually writing for the sequels, but rather for an off-year spin-off.

I didn't have any hope for the new trilogy period.

Yeah, but doesn't Google overwrite their cache eventually? As it is, it's too late since people pulled said Cached posts out and put them on a blog that Evilore can't nuke from orbit. So unless Disney puts their foot down (why would they) those quotes are Streisanded now.
