Just seen Farage saying he’s up for a pact with Boris, and Trump reckons the pair of them could deliver a jolly old brexit.

Torn between winding up my colleagues and keeping my mouth shut tomorrow. I’ve been telling them for weeks that Boris is just warming Nige’s seat, but it’s getting a little too real now.

This about gave me a heart attack during Brexit and my resting blood pressure is so low that it set off alarms the last time I was in hospital.

SANTO DOMINGO (Reuters) - Tech guru John McAfee, creator of the eponymous antivirus computer software, has arrived in Britain from the Dominican Republic, where he was detained with his wife for entering the Caribbean nation with firearms on his yacht, his lawyer said on Friday.

The attorney general's office "asked him where he wanted to go, and he decided on London," said lawyer Candido Simon, who McAfee hired to represent him in the Dominican Republic.

McAfee, born in 1945 at a U.S. military base on British territory, has both nationalities. After Dominican authorities ensured the United States had no active legal cases or extradition requests for McAfee, they allowed him to choose where he would be sent, Simon said.

McAfee, who is seeking the Libertarian Party's nomination for U.S. president in 2020, recently told Reuters in an interview he could help Cuba defeat the U.S. trade embargo by launching a cryptocurrency.

How about Priti Patel, who was sacked a couple for holding unauthorized meetings with Israel while secretary of international development.
And now got the 3rd top job, Home Secretary. Being rather infamous for having expressed rather positive opinions about death penalty in the past, as it happens.

Boris is going to spend 100 million pounds on a Brexit no-deal preparation marketing blitz which will be the biggest UK government ad campaign since WW2 bonds.

Only thing he will accomplish is crashing out with no deal and then  trying to keep the UK from disbanding.

Boris Johnson is visiting Wales for the first time as PM as he tries to rally farmers' support for his Brexit plans.

A Welsh farmer called on Mr Johnson to stop "playing Russian roulette" with the lamb industry over the threat of a no-deal Brexit.

But Mr Johnson said: "We're not aiming for a no-deal Brexit, we don't think that's where we'll end up."

"This is very much up to our friends and partners across the channel," he said.

Boris had an interesting week so far.

He visited Manchester and got stuff thrown at him from the crowds and he visited Scotland and got boo'ed by the public.
Dominic Raab made a complete fool out of himself in a TV interview.

New investment in the UK car industry has suffered a "precipitous" decline.

It comes at a time when businesses in the sector have been spending heavily on preparations for a no-deal Brexit, according to the Society for Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The government says it is liaising with companies to help them prepare.

The SMMT says investment fell to just £90m in the first six months of the year from £347m last year.

By contrast, firms' spending on contingency plans for a possible no-deal Brexit has now reached a minimum of £330m.

Probably a million reasons this wouldn't work but why not just have England leave the EU and the rest of the UK can stay in? Seems like that'd satisfy the Ireland issues and Scotland doesn't seem to want to leave.

Scotland might want another referendum.

Wales? Dunno. (Don't seem as divided from England as the others. Just my gut feeling, though.)

Northern Ireland? Phew. Hard border is a no-go for the Irish and consequently the EU. Johnson is going full steam ahead on no-deal, counting on the EU to fold on the backstop and negotiate a deal similar to Norway's. Will they? Dunno.

The Brits terminology is pretty confusing but I'm pretty certain Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are not "real" countries as of now even if they have their own sports team on the international stage because reasons. It would be a nightmare to enforce and I don't think anyone is eager to open the can of worms of individual regions exiting the EU.

I'm no EU scholar but I'm fairly certain that despite my previous point there's some special status for some exceptional territories, notably islands (a quick search comes up with an "ultraperipheral region" that apply to the Azores, Canaries, etc...) and IIRC the EU was opened to the idea of keeping the border open between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (in effect turning NI into a special region out of the EU but with preferential access to the common market) if the UK enforced its customs between Northern Ireland and the main island of Great Britain. But as we all know the UK government has decided so far to not decide anything. They don't want the hard border between the RoI and NI, but they don't want it between NI and the rest of GB either.

It's a mess - they aren't recognized internationally as countries as the only true sovereign unit is the UK, but in many ways, they are - e.g. the fact that they have their own governments. Westminster only has exclusive power in very limited things, such as international relations and defense.

It's quite funny, because ironically the UK is kinda like the EU.
