Loving the "neither something to be proud nor ashamed of" plurality in all the countries where decolonization took place in living memory.

It's one thing to have a healthy suspicion, it's another to ignore all available evidence so you can push your pet narrative.

Nearly 3000 tons of ammonium nitrate haphazardly stored and forgotten about for years finally explodes, after which the man in charge makes ominous claims about the possibility of an attack, in a region where Israel is blamed for all strife.

This dude is throwing a smokescreen to distract from the fact that they fucked up big time. :comeon

It sounds like they've been good about letting essential items and people through so far.

The dipshit president has called for talks on Sunday.

The result was rigged, but the local tallies weren't and they did an actual count that shows the opposition lady won big.

The dipshit president has called for talks on Sunday.

Update: These were boycotted by the people asking for another actual election to take place.

Fernando Camacho (a candidate in the election that just can't seem to happen) has said that he will use his guys ("the people" specifically) to disperse the general strikes if the dipshit president won't use the army.

Stay strong Belarus. Hopefully the international community will support them.  :fbm

Hard to tell who's winning this. For every crowd the police disperses a new bigger crowd appears.

Belarus protesters gaining ground on the police tonight.
They're blocking the roads in the capital with cars, making it difficult for the police to coordinate their forces.

The situation in the Eastern Mediterranean is worrying. Turkey's unilateral decisions on oil exploration are causing tensions. These must stop in order for a peaceful dialogue between neighboring and NATO allies to take place.

I decided to temporarily strengthen the French military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean in the coming days, in cooperation with European partners, including Greece.

Ok, where's the Macron emoji already before he starts a war with the Ottomans

The fact is: the US undeniably attacked Lebanon through Israel.
I don't need to hear the jets, or eyewitnesses detail seeing the planes, or all the first accounts about 2 bombings followed by the last explosive one.
They help, but the media/political response is enough proof.

"What, why do you want to bomb Lesbians again?"

Account from a Russian journalist who found himself arrested in Belarus.
Warning, this is a pretty shocking read.
https://meduza.io/en/feature/2020/08/13/just-shoot-us-already

The weird thing though, the Belarusian special forces seem to think that the opposition leader was actually controlled by Russia to take over Belarus.

Great news from Belarus, 2000 prisoners have been released in an effort to stop the protests. Police has pretty much disappeared from the streets after a day of protests and strikes.
Even miners and factory workers who are the base of Lukashenko's supporters joined the protests and some former and current members of the government.
