The Russians are preparing a direct assault on Kyiv.
Last night they used strategic bombers to fire cruise missiles at bases and airports. Mariupol is still under siege.
The death toll is rising fast and is estimated at 10 000 civilian deaths in Mariupol, which could double soon.

The Russians are shelling hospitals, churches, mosques, residential areas and schools. Some villages have been completely destroyed. They've also started to arrest mayors and other officials.

Ukraine is putting up a great defense but time is on Russia's side and diplomacy is going nowhere. There is also real fear that Russia might use chemical weapons are cause a radiation leak.

This is just Russian military doctrine. They did the same thing in Georgia and Syria. U.S.-style precision isn't really a thing most militaries practice or have an interest in.

reading a little about this (grain of salt with how information gets disseminated online) it sounds like there was zero opsec, apparently anyone who emailed the ukrainian embassy in the UK was sent the location of the foreign legion training facility so the russians probably knew where to bomb for weeks
