Macron lost his majority in parliament. Center-right parties pretty much all lost seats, the Left alliance and Le Pen party gained. Macron alliance plus the center-right alliance still has slight majority though.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder and terrorist acts after a shooting in the centre of Norway's capital, Oslo.

Two people were killed and 21 injured in the overnight attack on a busy nightlife district.

42 is quite old for the average radicalized mental ill islamist to suddenly commit a hate crime.

Ya certainly an outlier for Islamist terrorists in terms of age, but I don't think it has any meaning.  Just because more people become radicalized at a younger age and more likely to act on it at a younger age, doesn't mean it can't happen to older people.  Also just because a lot of the preventative talk is based around youth doesn't mean that it isn't valid, just that it is limited.

He was Iranian no? They've been threatening with 'consequences' because of the nuclear talks that stranded.
Turkey and Israel have been on high alert for weeks. Wouldn't put it past the IRGC to distribute some weapons among unstable but useful idiots.
Same for the GRU/FSB.

The reason I wrote my response as is is because I knew you were going to base some big conspiracy on a small outlier.  It's not to say it might not be possible, nor that it isn't probably a result of Iranian stochastic terrorism, but the simplest answer doesn't need to explain away the guys age or evoke hollywoodesque spy games.

The gas fields in the black sea would be my guess.

One of Russia's goals is to conquer the Azov and black sea coasts leaving Ukraine landlocked and no longer limiting the Russian Navy and merchant vessels to just the port of Sevastopol.

You could easily deploy mobile missile systems there.
With Mariupol already conquered the battle for Odessa will probably be the most important battle of the war.

The Russians continue their terror hitting a shopping mall far beyond the front lines.

Caught at the G7, Macron asking Biden to increase US oil production because according to him the Saudi's and UAE are maxed out already.
Biden's plan was to ask Saudi Arabia and UAE to produce more oil.

Turkey has dropped their opposition against Sweden and Finland joining NATO.
Erdogan gets everything he wanted. Sweden and Finland will extradite some 'terrorists', they will lift the arms embargo on Turkey and will share intelligence among many other things.

The Russian Defence Ministry says it has withdrawn its forces from Snake Island, which became a focus of attention in the first few days of the war when a small group of Ukrainian soldiers defending the island were heard in audio recordings telling a Russian warship to "go to hell".

"As a goodwill gesture, Russian troops have today completed the performance of tasks on Snake Island and withdrawn the garrison stationed there," the ministry said.

Quote
The ministry says the move shows the global community "the Russian Federation is not hampering the UN's efforts to organise a humanitarian corridor to ship farming produce out of Ukraine".

It says the decision will mean Kyiv can no longer suggest that any food crisis and inability to export grain is "due to Russia's total control of the northwestern part of the Black Sea".

"Now it is up to the Ukrainian side that is still not clearing the Black Sea coastline, including the harbour waters," the ministry says.

I'm sure it's got nothing to do with them getting obliterated yet again this morning :lol

So the tories lost two seats in the Commons recently, after a by-election (they got obliterated) triggered because the two MPs got shitcanned, one for watching porn in the Commons, the other for sexual assault.

We are becoming literally ungovernable.

https://twitter.com/TheRealKeean/status/1543300949870927873

Our government got into legal trouble with a climate action group and a judge ruled they must enforce their own nitrogen regulations (which are based on very poor theoretical models).
So they announced 'radical' plans to end this 'crisis' including confiscation of farmland.

Meanwhile there is a housing crisis (we're short about 1 million homes). Because the nitrogen levels are too high (they aren't but oh well) no construction permits can be approved.
Our prime minister then makes comments like: "It's difficult to built in the city so we should just yank out some crops and build there" and the parties heavily pushing this are just mixing their CO2 talking points with Nitrogen.

The farmers put 1 and 2 together, they need to give up their lands so that our government can build more homes and solar panel fields.
However most of the country thinks it's important that we can grow our own food considering the current geopolitical situation (after all ending our own gas production has had dire consequences so far).
More and more groups are now joining this protest as it is starting become a full blown clash between the working class (hit by inflation, high gas prices etc.) and the bureaucrats and climate zealots who want to send in the army to fight the farmers.
Add in some nationalists who want the borders closed and WEF conspiracy folks and you got a tinder box.

The political 'leader' of this movement is this folksy woman and the media are having a hard time convincing us that she's a Nazi like Wilders and Baudet.

Now the farmers plan to shut down the entire country (airfields, ports, distribution centers) on Monday.

Some protests already today.
https://twitter.com/MenuKaktus/status/1543616976211378178

The government has scrambled to announce a mediator to begin talks in August, but they insist that the overall plans won't change regardless of those talks.
Caroline van der Plas does not accept the government appointed mediator. The protest is still on.

As I'm typing this the ministry of defense announced that keeping the airport open is 'vital' and that armored vehicles are being deployed to deal with any attempts to block the airport.
The farmers groups have said that they will allow emergency services (ambulances, fire fighters etc.) to pass their blockades if necessary to 'save lives'.
The truck drivers are planning to help the farmers with their protests.

In other news, who wants some (sanctioned) oil?

The defense of the airport seems to have already failed. The farmers have been spotted earlier this evening taking positions around the airfield.

The police and army said that they have the equipment to remove 1 or 2 tractors from the road tommorow but they lack the equipment(and motivation?) to deal with a large number of farming vehicles nationwide.

The situation in Europe right now is that Germany and France want a negotiated peace ASAP so gas and oil deliveries can be restored and England wants to stand and fight alongside Poland.
It is likely a new PM would focus on domestic issues first and probably has to listen to the opposition to build trust. Labour's position is very much in line with France and Germany.
Even in his own party ranks Boris' unwavering commitment to the fight in Ukraine is quite unique. The UK has acted quickly and delivered supplies when it mattered most.

For the US it's always important that Europe is in the fight as much as they are. This is just not the case for a number of core EU countries like Italy, The Netherlands and Germany.
If the UK is in the process of some sort of 'transition of power' for a week or 2 it will significantly weaken the war effort.

The UK's support has been no different in term of actions than what the vast majority of other countries (bar Germany who keeps dancing around) have been doing. They're just far less vocal about it. And we all know what to do with stuff - like "we're leading the world in supporting Ukraine" - that comes out of Boris' mouth.
