Listening to journos on the radio literally say "if we lost then we'd have called for Hodge to be sacked but we won and , hey, this is all just a bit of fun and laughs and lols whilst we insinuate we were very lucky to win the game (insinuating that a shinned effort was a lucky strike) and , whilst defeats are entirely Hodge's fault, he has nothing to do with the victories. We will be ignoring the second goal because WANKERS"
For all my disagreement with English setup, the press writers are largely a shameful pack of wankers who know nothing about football but want to run the game. No matter what happens they always ahve the counter argument of "we should have done it THIS WAY" - it's bullshit.
