Agreed. Nothing will change. The last time this level of calling out bullshit happened was ~2006(?) when the 360 failure rate was high and Shoe went to Peter Moore and said "you know, you can't just handwave the 360 failure rate away as 'something that normally happens, right? The level of failure is too damn high!'" I agree that Peter Moly is a "has-been" and I do legitly feel bad for the way Walker blind-sided him with the initial question of him being a "liar" there was far better ways to call out his mistakes, but that said: I have no remorse for Peter feeling bad after this interview. It needed to be done. Godus on PC is still wayyyy behind the mobile versions (IIRC) with no peep about updates or any sort of timeline. Peter can go "oh well we're updating the Steam version a lot!" and that's great and good and all, but when those updates are barely a blip or rumble... I'm sorry, I can't fuck with that.

Only issue I had with Mumei as a mod was that everyone would clamor for them to make an appearance, ignoring the actual discussion or trying to hold it at bay until the heroes arrived, and shut down the bigots with reading material and you could tell it would take the wind out of the sails of threads in part because of the red name and encourage one faction. Especially since it'd a.) be quoted endlessly and b.) people would be told to shut up until they read everything Mumei posted and then they could come back after learning to agree. I imagine that will dissipate over time.

I think "red names" need to be aware of the effect that badge/power has over discussion*. The best example is probably how Steve Youngblood goes into threads and demands bitcoins or he'll wreck up the joint. Then mails parts of cats nailed to a picture of him hovering over the ban button to users. I think that's really uncalled for and problematic.

GAF dogpiles are always problematic, especially when the person isn't allowed to respond but instead banned after 25 people quote them just to express disgust. It would nice for mods to clarify that a poster was not banned for their shitty opinion in one thread but for something posted in another when that's the case. Then there's no dancing on the grave and it doesn't promote the image that some views are ban worthy when they aren't. Kabouter or somebody clarified a ban in a recent thread I saw that it was for the guy having been a recurring alt account and it stopped most of that.

*Of course, they might be and use it to their advantage.

The Order review thread will either be the best thread this year or possibly the worst. Thread quality depends on the scores themselves and how good the trolling is, both elements amount to 50/50 when it comes to thread quality. At this point in the game, Sony stans use these posting style methods:

1. If the game reviews well, everyone that didn't suck the games dick must eat crow.
2. If the game reviews moderately well or poorly, game reviewers don't know what good games are and you gotta trust Gaf fuck boys.
3. If the game reviews terribly, it is probably the best and most misunderstood game of all time.
