My all time favorite retail story is the assistant manager where I worked at Gamestop who went around the city and won all the in store F-Zero contests at all the Gamestops and took the prizes.  They had a big tournament for all the people who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at a store's grand opening with a big giftcard prize and some games and shit.  He won that as well, but the regional manager recognized him, took his prizes away, and demoted him to supervisor at which point he came in crying for his next shift.  He was also trying to become a cop but they kept denying him, probably because he was too fucking stupid.
:dead

shout outs to whoever stopped him from becoming a cop. probably saved like 3 black dudes lives.

I feel somewhat bad for him, because yes, he's worked hard, got a degree, and was always hoping to get into the Secret Service or some other federal law enforcement agency.

However, my sympathy is lessened at how he thumbed his nose at the idea of applying to any municipal/uniformed policing gig.

Beggers can't be choosers.
I feel like the path from uniformed cop to secret service is probably a bit easier than sports authority bitch to secret service. but hey, he did just get a 25c raise so he must be doing something right.

I'm going to go out on a real short limb here and say it's probably a very bad idea to ask that pile of socially inept goofballs how to fix your marriage of 24 years.

Your marriage is older than the majority of the members and twice as old as their mental state.

How little self respect must you have to entertain an open relationship/swinging?

Seems like it's just putting off the inevitable divorce plus the pain of knowing that your soon-to-be-divorcing wife is cruising for dick.  Seems like the proper response is to change the locks and call a lawyer instead.

33 years old, bragging at how amazing he is at his retail job. I'd laugh but damn that's just too sad.

I feel bad for the guy. He's always had the dream of getting into the FBI or SS (or something like that). He's posted about it multiple times on GAF over the past 7+ years.

That should be a lesson: Never share your dreams aloud.

The shittiest part about retail is usually your 'big break' is taking over a store that is such a clusterfuck that they will take a chance on a person who has moved up the ladder (instead of sending a seasoned person to die there). So congrats, you now have to turn around a store with chronic theft, poor employee morale in a dying part of town. Good luck!

The lesson should be to never have dreams in the first place. Dreams are garb.  :trash

You joke but...

(Also PD check your PM's. If these PM's could talk though... :gurl )

I'm taking classes like these because my parents are forcing me to have a Physio major because they want me to go to med school. My other major, ECE, is a lot easier and more enjoyable for me. Of course, listening to my parents guarantees I don't really need to worry about money during college, but so much stress in my life is just trying to appease them...

Force fed? I'm a 1st generation American , when my family and I came here we had literally nothing. My parents worked menial jobs and eventually opened up a business of their own, without government assistance. They provided for myself, and 3 other siblings and we all graduated in the top 10 percent with a full ride to college. I find its laughable that you of all people, given your history (asking Neogaf for money) is giving me a lecture on being "force fed". I can guarantee you that as a Conservative, I've done more for the poor (done charity work in my homeland of Vietnam) than you have in your entire life.

I tend to cut Terrisus a lot of slack. But if you're on disability but are well enough to go to college how in the world do you not get a PhD? I mean they practically will keep paying for you to go until you get it right.

Open relationships work. They don't, however, work as a bandaid for a shitty marriage.

7. Do you think its "greedy" for nintendo to take 40% of your earnings if you mention/feature them? on top of what youtube takes (50%) and your managed channel network takes? (30-50%?) while every other company takes 0% or even PAYS YOU money for the same?

Won't someone please think of the economic parasites. :'(

That said he doesn't really say "well I wouldn't want them to monetize my videos, but if they remix it: it's cool" which kinda... doesn't answer the persons question.

I understand the impulse to defend yourself when you feel as if you're being attacked, but you always have to take a good look at who your "attackers" are. These are some of the same people who would, at one time, argue at length why software locked to the system hardware it was purchased on was a good idea.  You know, morons.  He should have saved his time.

Complaining about this when the thread is about NeoGAF which is discussing Angry Joe and Nintendo...

True but just look at the first link to see his arguement. I think the argument of "how would you feel if someone took your work, 'remixed it' which you're cool with and monetized it with no consent from you?" is a valid counter-argument that the Nintendo defenders (and Joe should reply to) can make. I haven't seen a reply from him in regards to that.
