Agreed with everything you said VomKriege.
Going in I was expecting Quiet to not be a captivating character, mainly based on spoilers and how she legit doesn't talk expect for a couple instances in the entire game. But her sexualization is go aggressive that it doesn't make any sense.
You could say that about other MGS games, but the context behind each woman character is completely different. Sniper Wolf is sultry in the way she speaks, how she approaches combat. She was sexy, but not over sexualized. She also drives one of the most emotional moments in the entire game.
Olga wasn't really sexualized at all in MGS2. Fortune wore a really weird fucking leotard thing but she wasn't sexualized. Rose was behind the codec the entire time and when she was revealed at the end, she looked like a normal woman. Emma Emmerich was a nerd who pissed herself. MGS2 is probably the best in the series when it comes to women just being women.
MGS3 is when things got sorta iffy. EVA relies on seduction, but her methods of seduction are lazy as fuck when it came to her seducing Big Boss. Like, pulling your tits out in the middle of a mission, prancing around in your underwear, those don't seem like typical soldier actions. She was over sexualized.
If anything, EVA should've been a character the mimics The Boss when it came to personality. Would've been a lot more gut wrenching if the woman Big Boss was seduced by faked her personality and mannerisms, that it was all a hoax.
MGS4 has the Beauty and Beast unit, that's when shit got legit bad.
Quite is worse than the B&B unit. Even if the context given doesn't alleviate the pervyness and sexualization, most of the women characters weren't lazy as fuck when it came to characterization. Quiet is one of the laziest characters in the entire franchise. Johnny, a dude known for shitting himself, has more character than Quiet when he has the shits.
