Gaffers are turning on Platinum   :o :lol

Besides Devastation, their last big console game that wasn't on a Nintendo console was Metal gear Rising. Seems like two complete duds (Korra and TMNT) and releasing W101/Bayonetta 2 on Wii-U are enough to make Gaffers turn on their chosen one.

Microsoft must be just thrilled.

I would say 0.01% of people who bought Minecraft knows who the fuck Notch is and I'm being generous with that 0.01% too.  Also it's a Microsoft property now so they could just say that Notch has nothing to do with Minecraft now and his views don't represent Microsoft's.  Easy.

I don't intend to play Street Fighter V, but I would be shocked if it had the level of UX polish that Overwatch does. If a bare bones game (I don't consider Overwatch bare bones, I'm indulging the claim) is almost painless to pick up and play* then it doesn't come off that way.

Eh, UI wise Street Fighter 5 gets the job done. But the main menu is HORRIBLE. It'll literally lag if the Capcom servers are under stress. Same when you're in survival mode where it'll drop frames. I haven't seen Overwatch pull that shit, so Overwatch wins on that account alone.

Telltale peaked at TWD Season 1.

I haven't played season 2 (yet, I need to redo season 1 on Steam), but I'd say not even then. Telltales' games are very very shallow for "adventure" games that have barely any puzzles or point and clicking to do.

So they are hit and miss because their own creative endeavors are great and some of the gun for hire games aren't? That dosen't make any sense.

Bayonetta 1/2, Vanquish, Anarchy Reigns, Wonderful 101, Mad World, and Infinite Space are all very good games. Even the weaker ones here are mechanically strong and full of style and personality that at least keeps them from being generic. You can say what you want about Anarchy Reigns , but at the end of the day it's a good beat-em up. Yes, maybe not the most ambitious genre, but the game is still very fun to play and has a great soundtrack. Thier own ips are nothing to write off as generic crap.

It's only if you look at their work for hire games were it becomes trouble. Even then Metal Gear Rising was a fantastic and unique (if not rushed) action game. Hell, somehow it was able to even achieve its own personality in the shadow of Kojima. Transformer's Devastation itself was solid. So it's really only three games out of 12 that seem bad. Two of them(Korra, TMNT) seem to be mostly because of budget and time. The other(Star Fox) seems to actually be because Nintendo themselves.

It's clear that when they are given actual time and money things come out great. Hell not even time per-say, look at Rising. Look at how promising Nier and Scalebound look.

If anything, these reactions still seem like left over crying from Rising's development and people getting tired of Platinum's fans. Still they are a fantastic studio.

Putting out 13 games in the spawn of 7 years with really only 3 of them arguably bad? That's pretty damn amazing. Espically since 3 of those are also some of the best action games out there.

It's still an issue in Valve's culture. I'll need to do some digging since I never saved them for posterity, but I've seen a lot of Gate-y rhetoric out of Valve employees on Steam's forums from time to time. And I should probably remind you that Gaben re-instated Hatred's presence on Steam and apparently reprimanded the employee(s) responsible for pulling it.

 :oreilly
That's pretty shoddy reasoning even for Gaf & Progress : SJW unit.

Otherwise, I'm pretty happy to see Valve getting bitten in the ass for outrageously ignoring labor laws (even if only tangentially in that case).

For some reason, Dyack seems to trigger me.  He pissed away a lot of great chances due to his ego and I don't buy his mea culpa bullshit for a second.  He's a notch or two above a con artist and doesn't seem to understand that people don't want to fork over any money to him.  If he really wants to get into people's good graces again, then start making games, even if they're on a shoestring budget.  Make something addicting on iOS that is simple.  No, he has to have his dumbfuck epics that need to cost tens of millions of dollars.  Fuck this loser.

He's absolutely a troll, I'm just too lazy to dig through his posts. I called him out on in it and he sort of half apologized then vanished for a bit, then came back talking about brisket and shit.
