This is like when you program an AI to work towards peace on earth then it realizes humans are the problem and wipes us all out, isnt it?

Ban anyone with a registered date after 2010 from posting in this thread and this thread will remarkably improve.
That might actually wipe out most activity.

Exactly.  Most people with a pre-2010 regdate have already long since moved on from GAF.  These threads can finally be laid to rest.

Hey I'm not THAT bad.

I guess I'm referring more to seagram's hotsauce and king of the internet who spend most of their posts in this thread bitching about what is being said in this thread.  It'd be different if they really contribute much outside the GAF thread but they don't so if a good bulk of their posts here are spent bitching about the posts here and they barely post anywhere else, looks like The Bore isn't the place for them.

It's basically /pol/ on 4chan but with NeoGAF flavoring.
I only really know the anime wallpaper section and /b/ on 4 chan lol

Voat is the new neofeg on steroids, so take that as you will. Less funny now, more 'who can out edge each other'
Smells like mid/late 2000s internet trolldom. :yuck

For the record, i'm not mad at anyone or anything. Just after all the arguments i've seen here, I'm pretty sure most of us have thick enough skin to take some hits and you're certainly not getting banned so why be vague? Besides, no one stays mad at anyone, except maybe magus.

l'm not surprised that Jeff "8.8" Gerstmann is trying once again to sabotage a Nintendo product. Hopefully this time Nintendo responds with legal action. They've said before they think the Switch could be a Wii like success, if it only sells Wii U numbers now a lot of that could rightfully be blamed on Jeff, and the other Jeff (Bakalar for his cute little stand hitpiece). That's billions of dollars he could be costing Nintendo here, l hope them and their CBS lawyers are ready for a fight.

I'm not saying this to you MTW, mostly to the air.

I've been here around two years now, and this exact pattern plays out every 4 months or so. The GAF thread gets too weird and veterans point it out. Sometimes the GAF thread turns into NeoFeg or Voat, yeah, but at least there's a lot of people to shoot that shit down and really skillfully.

But if it wasn't for this thread (and by extension of what I understand of the history, this site) I wouldn't have come to the Bore. Say what you want about me I guess, but I got burnt up on not being able to criticize something I quite frankly was WAY too invested in, that being Neogaf. Sue me. This thread is cathartic, but as time has gone on I have tried to get more ingrained in other threads that are offered here (NFL, CIV VI, US Politics, NSFW, Outside Link, game giveaways, etc).

This place is not Reddit, it's certainly not Neogaf, it's small enough that I can care about what the people are doing here, but big enough that there are differing opinions.

I'm still thankful this thread exists because it reminds me how stupid it can get.

Please, people get called out directly here all the time. On many specific topics. Y'all just get mad quick at shots taking at you. It's funny to bring up "why not call out specific things and actually have a discussion" when this thread's main use is literally yelling at posters at another forum who don't know you exist.
I dont link to neogaf (often) I'm in here discussing y'all discussing neogaf, also how can i get mad that you 'called me out' when you didnt, I was in fact mad that seagrams didnt call me (or whomever annoyed him) out and instead decided to yell at a cloud, if you have a specific problem with something said by me or whomever call that motherfucker out, I'm not here to take a shit in the thread and then move on, if i bother to post more than 5 words it's because I want to be engaged and will engage with people posting interesting (if i agree or not) shit.

As someone who voat was kinda obsessed with for awhile, this thread is no where near voat levels. Start discussing if I'm fuck able or not and you'll be close, but not quite
Having never been to voat, what's it like...

50% or so of the posts are about distinguished black fellows, their brown counterparts, Christian precursors following the First Testament and their intense business acumen, Social Studies Fighters and their willingness to spread their agenda, people having sex change operations, people cheated by their wife, and people sexually inclined to persons of the same sex. As it turns out those people have immense power and are ruining the world/Neogaf.

I get the complaints about this thread, there's really nothing to be poud of going on there, and yeah the pleasure of being contrarian comes with the whole "gaze not into the abyss for you'll end up an alt-righter" but we're still pretttttty far from VOAT.

Not in the least bit surprised that people who complained about OscarsSoWhite are now complaining that it was too black this year and there wasn't enough representation of other minorities. Basically guaranteed to happen. Next year when all the best picture noms are for black/Latino/Asian helmed movies, the complains will be "Why aren't any LBGT movies nominated? This is not okay". And then the year after that, it will be some other group. Forever and ever. Amen.

They can never take the small victories. No time to savor anything. It's always on to the next battle.

Except Moonlight was a LGBT film, wasn't it? :confused

I'm kinda pissed at how they bumbled La La Land on the best picture. I agree with critics on it not being a strong "best picture" of the year (and it winning in other areas was 100% okay with me as I agree the musical number, the teleplay-script, and the cinematography were all fire) but having the La La Land folks come up, only for the director(?) to see the envelope and snatch it to show to the camera was pretty shitty.

Like Steve Harvey screwed up on the winner last year's Miss Universe, but that wasn't as completely awful as this. It was between two "winners" not a damn team that was happy.

I had no idea the Oscar was an award for the most woke movie. I thought it was just about well made entertainment. /shrugs

it's like eurovision. on the surface it's just a shitty pop competition, but it tells you everything you need to know about the geopolitical landscape of europe.

Absolutely agree Jack.

Though It's still odd to give a fuck about who wins in general. Awards shows don't dictate what I end up watching or enjoying, and they're generally a self congratulatory circle jerk.

So many great movies from last year don't even show up on the Oscar radar.

Is La La Land a straight up musical romcom or does it  take any unusual turns?

The pop music industry is pretty upfront about being little more than dopamine pushers and rent seekers, so it makes sense that they wouldn't suddenly decide to make statements with their annual awards show.

Hollywood on the other hand...

It's more pretentious but can be as shallow at its worst.

I don't even think video games are art, let alone Hollywood movies.

I was saying that the two behave inconsistently because of the respective edifices upon which they rest.
