The film has been barely out a couple days and it's already a commercial failure ?  :heh
I mean yeah it's not lighting crowds on fire but don't be a gaffer brehs.

It massively underperformed Paramount's underperformance predictions. It's a bomb, breh.

I wanted it to be successful on the basis of getting more Cyberpunk alone. But that ain't happening.

You've still got Blade Runner. Don't give up hope!

Harrison Ford just showing up for less than 5 minutes means the budget is already going to make breaking even at the box office impossible so you're right. You win this round (sadly).

Or all these alt-right ignorers?

Someone ask A Link to the Past that.

Well that Polanski standing ovation gif get posted often on GAF with much scorn everytime but despite what the wise LionPride professes with regards to linking at the hip the unsavory acts and opinions of artists and the evaluation of their work I don't think a lot of film buffs there are really boycotting films done by Scorsese, Nicholson, Streep, Cage or Brody...

But :yeshrug
We're all full of double standards. Though I think GAF reaction is way too strident as usual. H3H3 is not exactly the most sophisticated political analyst (and he'll probably say so himself) and he should deffo get some deserved blowback if earned but so far, if I understand correctly, his biggest fault is standing up for friends. I guess he shouldn't in theory but as said above JonTron helped his wife coming to the US permanently.

Must say though I'm a little bit surprised all those Youtube people actually ended up forming a social circle. You'd think Youtube would have atomized things much further  but I guess corporatist trends are just that strong.

EDIT : Also people speaking of Youtubers with a few years of work at most as if they were commenting the career of decades-old rockstars.
"Los Angeles got to him, man. His early videos were the bomb but now he sold out to the Man"

Someone in the Jim thread talked about that, but what if the "explorers" are mostly JonTron fans or GG or some people like that? You will have games not being recommended because they are maybe only in Chinese or Japanese, use an anime-artstyle or cater to "SJW".

The JonTron hordes at the gates ! But fear not, NeoGAF is the fourth Rome and it will not fall.

By "fake games" they mean asset flips and games made solely to profit off steam cards.

People were bitching that Valve wasn't curating the games closely enough, then they bitch that Valve is curating the games themselves instead of the community doing it, of course they'll bitch that Valve is further empowering the community (beyond the tags, the increased visibility for reviewers who have played the games, etc.) to curate because the community might have garbage taste, all while bitching because Valve also pushes you to self-curate through your own queue and also the fact that Valve tracks all this to try and show you things its system thinks you're interested in, etc.

Just trust in Gaben already for he has transcended such petty human concerns:

I have no doubt this country is capable of re-electing Trump. You'd be stupid as fuck to think otherwise given how the last 2 years went.

Ami's posts are generally just his hyper wish fulfillment as opposed to any kind of worthwhile analysis. He might as well be talking about his favorite sports team, just swap out "Hillary" with the head coach and "Democrat" for the team name. "The Democrats have the best front 7 in the division, there is no way the Republicans will be able to rush on us. Trump couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, Hillary will expose him when comes to Xs and Os. This Championship is going to be so satisfying, I can't wait for election night the Title game"  :smug

I vividly remember GAF taking "half" quite literally and when she later backed away from it by saying "it's not half" they automatically assumed she meant more than half and treating it like a zinger.

The Room 1/2/3
Sorcery 1/2/3/4
80 Days
Any Simogo game
Reigns
Dead Space
Lara Croft GO
Monument Valley

That's not what doxxing means, since none of it is private nor is it identifying information about yourself. Nor did I link to anything. So stop trying to appropriate terms you don't understand, just like "Cultural Marxism." Nor is it a secret around here, tons who participates in political threads know about it, because it has been discussed like fifty different times. You don't try to hide it. {A}And when you surround yourself with an echo chamber of hate, in real life and online, you tend to live in a bubble. This is specifically relevant to the outrageous positions you try to push around here.

So, your "everyone" are not exactly even a popular segment that deserves respect. And no, you haven't been respectful. You support Trump, whose hate and racism and misogyny is now harming the lives of millions of people. {B}That is equivalent to spitting in the faces of people I love. Show me respect by detaching yourself from that whole hateful environment, show those I love respect by doing it. If you can't, then stop pretending.

{A} The lack of self-awareness there is really something.

{B} Is that how respect works?!

It's not so much the opinion he has on the game as it is the fact that he's been hyping this negative review he has unleashed for some time now. Most expected a score this low from him, in fact, on account of several tweets he has blasted before embargo. It started with (and I am paraphrasing for effect) "Oh boy, this game is so shit i cant keep playing...STAY TUNED!" and "Man, Laura and I have been playing Yooka...OOOOH BOY! Don't say we didn't warn you" or something to that effect. This has been a shit show he has stirred up, deliberately, before today.

Pretty sure Sterling took a hard stance against Jontron's comments. I don't think he's in the "immediately try to derail the thread" category. It's just that he pisses a lot of people off with his reviews.

Anyway, quality posts on NeoGAF.com:

More surprised that some people are turning on him because recent reviews, as he has been always the guy with strong opinions like "Dysnasty Warriors is better than Vanquish" that can be considered attention bait. If anything he has actually tried to be less obnoxious than in his destructoid days.

Oh I'm sure that in time they will find something to pin on Jim Sterling too.

Jim has never been a saint to begin with, but it become one of GAF darlings just to start to get heat for a Zelda and the no-BanjoGame reviews . I found this so weird.

Who is pure, saintly, and consistently "progressive" enough to remain in GAF's good graces? It seems even the good "allies" gets on GAF's shitlist eventually.

"Worse than Mass Effect Andromeda"
"3 hours in I just can't play anymore, I've probably only played two hours and spent the other hour in disbelief looking at what people say in the log."
Re:Persona 5 localization

Except it's...fine? I don't mean to sound like an apologist, because there is a cap or two of lines that could genuinely be better, but I don't think it's as bad as some Chicken Littles were claiming it was?

I'm normally really sensitive to that type of shit as far as immersion goes, but many of the stilted lines sounded totally fine with VO and others were cherrypicked from Igor.

I think it's fine to make a deal about it since Altus listens to their community and will actually react to localizing a bit less literally, but some select people were literally acting like this is SAO levels of bad and will end their play through.

After the debacle with Xseed, I'm always wary of localization opinions from GAF mod team. There is some bad blood between some mods and some localization teams.

That EG Scorpio pre-reveal thread on gaf is legit crazy.  :lol

Seems it didn't take much for the craziest of the Sony fanboys to go off the edge.  Started off with concern trolling, now it's accusations that EG are dirty and are being brought by M$ despite them doing the same kind of article for the PS4 Pro last year.

If this scorpio machine has Zen, I expect the Gaf mods are going to be very busy.
