Dcharlie tweeted that he's got 232 games for the Switch now.  Can't even do a LOL-

I think I'm missing a game or two, but I'm at about 196 games for this thing.

how is diablo if you don't care for multiplayer? It has the only WRPG fantasy setting that looks somewhat interesting to me thanks to the edge factor which reminds me of Blood Omen 1, so once every year or two I shortly think about maybe checking it out...

How do the controls work in Diablo 3? I remember playing the original Diablo on PC and you had to click on the enemies with a mouse pointer to attack them. I did not like that.

It's fine as a single player game. I've played it that way primarily for years now.

What's with SEGA never getting 3rd party games for Megadrive rereleases. Hard Corps and Castlevania Bloodlines still have never been rereleased iirc.

Sega collected some roms from 87-93 and said "good job; history preserved!" i mean ffs the only Sega cd game they released was ported by fans, and we're waiting on an hd release now that fans had to beg for for YEARS. it's fucking pitiful how little work these companies do to celebrate the work that made them.

Well, back in the day when Juji Naka became the rockstar of SEGA and Yu Suzuki was banned to the basement he burned everything that he didn't create.
Prior to that he had already destroyed the entire SEGA America archive for stealing the Nights engine for their Sonic game.

And when they finally chased Naka out of the company after Sonic 2006 he went ahead and burned everything he had created too.

Don't hire Juji Naka kids.

It's gonna be more of the same old, same old Genesis games (and hopefully some arcade games), but M2 is doing these ports which means they'll be worth checking out.

Checked out the MHGU demo. Beat the easy quest for now.

Feels like riding a bike. Been so long since I played the series (skipped Gen, so last game was 4U, but last time I played on a console was 2013 with 3U.)

I’ll probably pick up the full game. Wish Switch had World though.

...that's not exactly how it went. Yeah, Yuji Naka is a dick but Sega has no problem being incompetent without him.

Honestly, all Sega has to do for me is port Panzer Dragoon Saga. Yeah yeah, Burning Rangers, Return Of Death Adder and a thousand etc.'s but that is the most egregious one. Source code lost? Get the roms somewhere and work on it. But we all know that's never happening.
Yeah, Naka threw that on the ground and smashed it with his Ferrari, sorry.  :doge

Yeah, I loaded that demo up once and it made sure I'm never playing a MH game again.

Starts off with a way too long animu FMV without any context
Makes you pick from some skill trees with zero context or explanation
Throws you into a level withoit any explanation of how the controls work or what you're supposed to do (besides killing monsters, obviously)
Controls/physics feel compeltely sluggish, feels like there is a lot of latency between pushing a button and your character reacting
Some random cat creatures are with you making annoying noises (once again, no explanation)
Terrible clipping, you can pretty much run through the tails of whatever dinosaurs you are fighting
The game is constantly loading

Nah, not for me.

Do your typical non-MHW games have a lot of tutorials to teach you how to play?

Thinking about picking up XX on Switch for flights, but I only know how to play the casual MHW, not normal MH.

The Monster Hunter demos are probably the worst introduction to the game possible. They're basically for people that are already into the series.

The games themselves usually take a few hours to get you up to the first real monster bossfight. Most of the early quests are just there to teach you the mechanics.

Yeah don't play the demo if you don't like MH.

If you're neutral, give it a try with the expectation that it will teach you 0% of the mechanics and is basically three standalone boss fights.

I for one am looking forward to that. Playing Grandia 2 on my Laptop, even with a 360 controller, wasn't fun.

...and yeah, Monhan demo is Monhan. You either know what you're getting into, or you get roflstomped like the newb you are. Still extremely unenthusiastic about buying a humongously late, overpriced, lazily uprezzed 3DS game, ages after MHW has released. Sigh. But I bought Go Vacation and a whole host of other sloppy portjobs, so...

The only thing that kills me about MHGU is the non-rescaled UI elements.

1 is waaaaaaaay better than 2 outside being dated.

1 has Ghibli epic adventure, great art, good combat, really good music
2 has great combat, great graphics and shitty story
3 has geat combat, great graphics and even shittier story
Xtreme has the best combat/gameplay, ok graphics, and no story

I prefer 1 > Extreme > 2 > 3

Never played Xtreme and I only played 1 on an emulator for like 3 hours.

Haha, I like 2&3. I actually think they're all great. But the stories/characters were kinda junk in 2/3/Xtreme. 1 actually has a legit good story/cast. It's a bit like Xenogears/Trails of the Sky.

It's pretty dated though like XG and other PS1 rpgs. I'd kill for an actual remake of Grandia 1.

Wish that we'd get a re-translation of Grandia courtesy of Gaijinworks.

And I hope eventually we'll get remasters of Xtreme, III, and hell throw in Parallel Trippers while we're at it.
