Can anyone explain the Hyrule Warriors mechanic? I've looked around but from what I can see, it looks like Horde Mode The Game. Is this accurate, or is there more depth to it than that?

Have you never played a Dynasty Warriors game before?

It's a 3D beat-em-up with some strategy elements, I.E. run around the map and beat the shit out of the opposing forces, take over certain areas and fight for control, fight stronger enemy generals/monsters, etc. This particular game also has some Zelda-like play mechanics and boss fights added.

They're fun games, but not for everyone.

Making lots of progress on Xenoblade 2.

The game gets much better around Chapter 4-5. Combat isnt as disgusting tedious (it still is, but theres more going on screen)

I can definitely finish this by the time Octopath is out.

I bought it already modded cuz I know I'd fuck something up.

It was $100, which is pretty much the same price as the cost of a new set of Joycons and the shell housing/parts to switch them out. The guy selling them must be getting everything a discounted rate or else it wouldn't make sense to be doing this.

Hori's d-pad joycon is also out next month, but it won't function unless it's on the Switch and has no vibration or gyro, IIRC. I'm still going to get that too because I suspect the d-pad will be better.

Huge difference when playing some games though. Much more comfortable and it was super-easy to do moves in BlazBlue Cross-Tag battle. Still worked like shit for Alpha 3 in SF 30th but I think that's just SFA3.

I had never fucked around with a Switch in person before today, and gotta say- I'm actually impressed with the build quality of it, especially after a lifetime of shitty, cheap toy feeling Nintendo products.

I was also prepared to just leave it hooked up to my tv forever but I can actually see myself playing it as a handheld some, especially with dirty shameful weeb games, away from prying eyes.

Fire Emblem Warriors is a surprisingly good Fire Emblem game

You can also make it play just like a strategy game:

It made me also realize I've barely sunken any time into this game and it's pretty damn fun in single player. Went back and started playing the regular single player too.

Single player in Splat2 is a blast. The biggest bummer is that you don't really use any of the cool single player stuff in multi.

The season pass has two little story missions and the rest is just costumes and shit. Not terribly worth it, but I did have fun with the base game.
