The screen might be the most expensive thing on it.

Half of the inside is the battery, not the motherboard:

The other part is a fan/heatsink/heatpipe.

No idea if they build the X1's at 16nm already, a non-screen, non-battery Switch could be really small theoretically.

I don't have one, does the fan speed up when it's docked? Its placement seems like it's as much for getting rid of the battery's heat as the X1's.

They'd probably charge like $250 for a TV only machine, if they went to $200 for it I'd be on board super fast.

the fan cranks pretty hard at points in Zelda when docked and charging.

oh wait, this is wrong, the source actually only says 768Mhz is the high end docked, it was heat tested at 921, lol nintards on wikipedia tryin to add secret sauce

ha, inside the dock:

so actually reading about this, they could cut out the dock theoretically too...so the screen, the battery and the dock could all be junked if they wanted to make a TV only Switch

the Switch itself can output at 1080p, nothing in the dock is required for this... well, it can't because there's no connector, but they could simply add one rather than use the usb-c port

I bought a Nyko charging case so i can charge and play the switch with a stand instead of chucking it in the dock. Dumb design constraint (/flaw) in that the usb input is on the bottom so you can't charge it while using the stand.

I thought Nyko products were fucking up Switches and are supposed to be avoided? Maybe that's just the docks? I picked up an Insignia dock almost a year ago, never opened it, read that Switches were getting bricked from third-party docks, and just realized I have no idea what happened to it.

I picked up Undertale on Switch a few weeks ago to keep me busy on flights for work. I forgot how short the game is. I'm currently about 60-70% through the game and am eyeing what I want to play next. Looking through current sales, a few games that catch my eye are:

yikes, i hope not. i just saw this one mentioned as a good extendable battery solution for the Switch so i jumped on it because a local retailer had them on sale

They need to have a resistor installed in the cable to work properly.

I’m not sure if “bricked” is the right word, but they may not work exactly correctly.

Edit: I think that this only an issue with usb A to usb c because Those cables don’t have the necessary ability to negotiate the power draw from the source and might try to draw more current than the USB A spec supports. The in line resistor prevents that (V=IR and all that).

Awesome Direct, now to spend another 120 hours of my life playing DQ11 but this time in 2D mode. Links Awakening remake is nice, Mario Maker 2 looks fun but I doubt I'll make anything with it, and that Platinum game pushes all the right buttons in terms of style.

Mario Maker 2 looks like Mario Maker. Is going to be fun but I'm not exactly thrilled about the2D 3D World (the worst 3D Mario game)
