Personally, though, I like games with stories. During the production of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, we made use of a system for character settings and real conversations in order to build the story, which was a first for a game in a series. (I also wrote the text for this game.)
Super Paper Mario pretty much ruined this entire series didn't it  :doge

Also whenever I read about F-Zero I remember Nintendo offered Critierion the job to create a new one for the Wii U launch (echoing the SNES line-up of Mario + F-Zero).
Criterion refused and were smug about it because they were doing Need for Speed and then shortly after EA stuck a fork in them.

No, just cranky long beyond his prime Miyamoto who demands to cut any deviation from New Mario Bros from the entire brand. But "Metroid needs Chibi" Tanabe is pretty bad too. Apparently for the new Paper Mario games he took inspiration from the Tingle game on DS in Europe/Japan, one of the worst pieces of shit I've ever played. :brain

Picking up Origami King and Astral Chain today. Tbh, it sucks Paper Mario hasn't had a consistent JRPG battle system, but the writing and world in Origami King sounds pretty interesting and fun.

Origami King's battle system is uh, ok I guess.  Writing is fun.  Graphics are simply lovely.  Game probably will be a 7 for me when I complete it.

Hopefully some footage of No More Heroes 3 without Suda standing in front of the screen  :lol

I'm expecting them to focus on games launching during the next quarter though.
So we're looking at Bravely Default, DOOM Eternal, Crysis and such.

-Cadence Of Hyrule getting three DLC packs
-Retail version with all content coming soon
-Rogue Company trailer
-WWE 2K Battlegrounds is coming to Switch
-Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster
-Shin Megami Tensei V (re?) announced for Switch

Also shown in the Japanese direct, but not included in this one was a trailer for Atelier Ryza 2.

Rogue Company is already out in Alpha- the Switch port is really good.

I could understand that argument if Nintendo had released no games recently. But they just released a video game just a month after announcing it.

Just because Nintendo sees no benefit in announcing their entire holiday line-up now vs. August or September doesn't mean they don't have any games for the remainder of the year.
If that was the case they would've kept Paper Mario for the holiday season.

They really like that Shovel Knight aesthetic.

Looks fun though.

It plays nothing like Shovel Knight and the music is really, really good- not entirely "8-bit" and pretty catchy.  The game is kind of like a Mega Man-style action/platformer, but you use melee attacks for everything and have a shield to block projectiles.  The weapons you pick up have different attributes/range and also each have different effects when you destroy them, I.E. health regen, defense up, etc.  You can also sell weapons back to a shop and use them to upgrade your armor.  You can exit the armor at any time and as the pilot, you have a Castlevania-like whip.  She's much weaker and has way less energy, but can get into certain spaces that the armor can't and there's some sections where you use the whip to swing across chasms.  I'm pretty impressed with the game.  Keep getting my ass kicked by the bosses, but I don't mind since it just meant selling weapons back for health increases, lol.

Related to trans character and how it is handled. Swery just re did some (text) lines to be read differently. Unfortunately to those offended it isn't fully fixed, so Swery is officially #cancelled

But to you and I, we won't notice because it's a non-issue when you play the game
