Yes, there were AA5 and AA6 games that released on 3DS and iOS/Android. There were also two Ace Attorney Investigations games and the second one never got an official release outside of Japan.

Shouldn't matter, though. The Great Ace Attorney is a completely new story and setting.

He mentioned that they'd gotten nice comments from Miyamoto when that game had made the rounds at Mario Club in Japan or wherever for testing

Cancelled my BOTW order from Slamazon.. it showed delivery estimate of Aug. 24th..

But Best Buy had it for $2 cheaper and free next day delivery!!

And speaking of BOTW, Ive come to realize I've been too critical on the OST... When I played it on WiiU, it was through TV speakers.. usually lowered to not wake others, so it never resonated with me.. Been listening to the OST with earbuds lately though, and there's definitely a lot of tunes that, although subtle, have some great sounds... Granted it's still no Koji masterworks, but it's not all suppressed as I first made it out to be with my initial experience.

Man, I'm so fucking excited. Putting Midori Midorikawa in there. A character that showed up in a Japanese only short story collection Red, Green and Blue. They later released it as a manga you could only get by ordering the Limited Edition of Silver Case 2425 on Switch.

NMHIII is gonna be day1 purchase here. I never played Travis Strikes Back.

I'm loving Xenoblade now that I've figured out how to play it. The big hurdle to get over is effectively navigating the menus lol. Ie. jumping between maps, quests and skills took some training to get smooth at it. I've figured out the fighting now as well, I couldn't figure out why the arts weren't behaving as they should, turns out Shulk's starting weapon just has a tiny success box and the arts work much better once you get the Monado $:-\$

smash, mk8, warioware (soon). i reckon arms looks fun and funny but it's weirdly expensive second hand here so i've never picked up a copy

I realized I'm probably going to get the dumb new OLED switch model. I play mostly portable and 1) My Switch sounds like a jet fucking engine and I don't use headphones and it is annoying as fuck, I'm sure this is because of dust getting into the fans, and 2) My joycon drift is fucking bad and keeps fucking up my picross game when the cursor starts floating upwards.

Just gonna take the hit and swap it I guess. Wish the OLED version was already out. I'm kinda at my limit with this switch but no point in upgrading now when a better portable screen model is in a few months.

With Switch OLED at $349 releasing in October I don't expect another upgraded Switch to release in 2022.
Nintendo will probably introduce a Switch Lite revision or a new dock and call it a day.

If you're looking for a relatively cheap way to get back into gaming the Switch is a good option and so is the Xbox Series S with GamePass.
I would say even though the disk drive is missing the Xbox Series S offers the best value right now.

Gameplaywise it's kinda average. The quality is in the style, music and writing. The DLC sets up the story in No More Heroes 3. So it depends on what you want from a Grasshopper game.

The writing was my favourite part as it's basically a biography of the company over the ages. The bad guy in the game is literally named after EA's John Riccitiello because Suda felt they ruined his game Kurayami. (Which became Shadows of the Damned) The same character, Damon, is the one that showed up in the animated No More Heroes 3: The Return trailer.

It's pretty much a game for Grasshopper/Suda51 fanboys.

It's Grasshopper going back to it's roots. If you liked Silver Case, Flower Sun and Rain, Killer 7 and the first No More Heroes, give it a try.

If you liked the games that came after it during their more corporate stint, give it a pass. Not a single of their games ever had anything beyond serviceable gameplay.

Apparently the Fire Pro Wrestling DLC Suda wrote is also tied into No More Heroes 3...

Black and White were the last truly great ones IMO, lol. A lot of creativity and artistic merit in that gen.

We should have realized things were going to go off the rails though, when they did Black 2 and White 2 instead of Gray. Train was already falling off the tracks back then...

No Pokemon Z, Pokemon Stars, or Pokemon Gun either. The signs were all there...

Yeah, that's fair. Plus the series took a hit with the move to 3D imo

Some of the monster designs looked fine as sprites but pretty ridiculous as models, or at least how they've been modeled.

Every Gen from 6-on has done this shameless Genwun pandering even before Pokemon Go blew up.

Gen 5 basically said "fuck ALL pandering" and tried a bunch of new stuff. And since it was the second gen made on DS the engine was actually fast (only a hair behind Emerald, fastest in the series) and didn't chug either. Love Black and White. Its biggest sin is being a little too linear (though still less so then 7 and apparently 8.)

PS- Yes, of course, sprites > models 1000%.
