What sort of illness do people get that makes them suddenly take extended hospitalizations that are months long?
I feel like it almost has to be a mental illness type of thing.
Did Mccain take an extended leave from the Senate due to a mental illness?
1) McCain was not hospitalized for that entire time and did not really take an extended absence like day one of diagnosis. He had that outpatient procedure first, and then continued to work. It is in fact unusual for cancer patients to be hospitalized for extended periods unless they are about to die (mom worked as a nurse in oncology for several years), her husband is saying she is hospitalized. Sudden Multi-week hospitalizations are pretty unusual. She didn’t have a car accident. She probably didn’t have a serious heart attack. I doubt she went into a diabetic coma. It’s unlikely she has a rare difficult to treat infectious disease. You don’t just suddenly get a hip replacement (and you’d be unhospitalized by now anyway in most cases).
2) this was sudden, because she clearly started teaching classes like two weeks earlier. Theoretically, if she was diagnosed with cancer, she would continue to try to teach until she couldn’t anymore.
3) this timing is suspect. What do you think the odds are that the media contacted the Yale dean and Amy Chua herself say 10-14 days or so before publishing a story alleging that she was Sending “hot young things” to Kavanaugh?
My best guess is that 1) she either had a breakdown when this came out or 2) Yale is being nice and she is not hospitalizaed at all but told her she couldn’t work while the investigation was going on but agreed to offer her a cover story.
Edit: it’s possivle she’s actually hospitalized... but it’s also possible she’s trying to avoid getting subpoenaed by the senate.
Edit2: forgot to mention one of the articles mentioned that the response they received was from a crisis PR firm, which means they clearly saw this coming
