They're on board with most of it, only butting heads when Trumpy flips the imperialist switch or fails to maintain the mask.is anybody saying they should be trusted?the question here is what sort of actual power do they wield

cindi, you know in the past how you have occasionally shifted your political affiliation?and each time when you did that, you explained how the people you had previously associated with (socialists, conservatives, dems, whoever) were all terrible people and morally deficient hypocrites?just ruminating on this randomly for no reason
This perspective is probably uniquely Dem to Cindi because they market themselves as the only viable party to whatever bullshit the Rs are doing. Don’t want to speak for her tho.

The two party system is crap and it needs to die. Until it does, Americans will be without representation. The two party system is also why we are in such a divided time now. It has given America nothing.
It's easier for progressives to win in a two-party system than a multi-party system. You just have to get half of your half, so 25%. In a multiparty system, you'd probably have to get at least 33% assuming there are three parties, you'd have to survive the runoff election, etc.if I'm wrong, anyone but mandark please correct me

We had a party for pedophiles
Real change happens from the bottom up, not the top down. Quit looking for presidential candidates to be some kind of silver bullet messiah. Our system doesn't work that way.
I don't think anyone suggested it did? State and local democrats aren't bad. What we have been arguing throughout this topic are national level politics.

Multiple pro wrestlers have made it into the Diet as well, so maybe we shouldn't look to Japan's system on this
As you always say.... Let People Vent. They can Google how SYRIZA went when the pandemic/election is over. People are just understandably mad.

Hitler. Stalin. You want things done, you grab a gun, kill your opponents, and decree the shit out of things.Last I checked, China was taking over the world while americans waddle in their own shit. Strongest economy in Europe? Germany. Longest county? Russia.

All I have to say is read Gramsci
Tough to commit to taking an L at the polls over something you don't even like.

The ruling party basically leads multiple parties with the multi-party system, it just means the opposition is relatively stifled especially compared to a two-party system. There is a huge political shakeup regarding turnout, the leading opposition party etc.Wouldn't necessarily say it's a one-party system. At least they have other avenues afforded to them, and better ways of signaling politics by electorate that have/will effect how their politics move forward.

So it's more impactful than just that and I think a lot of llberals are experiencing a similar phenomenon whether they're social-democratic or neoliberal. Almost all of us in this thread are showing up to the polls for Popular Front reasons. We know the country needs reform and it's not going to happen. So for the people* who actually believe reform is possible, it's infuriating for them. Plus with the election fuckery it's like you might be showing up for something that's has a non trivial chance of being fixed.... Tough to commit to taking an L at the polls over something you don't even like.*It must suck to consider that QAnon probably has a better chance of expanding legislative power than anything social-democratic.

My main concern is that Democrats desperately cling to the inroads they make with suburban and educated republicans by giving those voters an unusual amount of attention. ToxicAdam will make us tear down windmills to save a few birds.
it's fossil fuel propaganda to distract from the fact that oil kills several orders of magnitude more birds than wind power does
People with pets are the worst. Make actual friends you fucking losers lol
